If you want to gain weight fast, eat lots of carbohydate.
Refined flour and refined sugar. You will gain weight in no time. But I guarentee you you won't like the end result.
A more healther suggestion would be to have a high protein low carbohydrate diet (more meat, less white bread and sugar). Fat in food doesn't matter (as long as you are not eatting lard out of a bucket... or McDonalds)
But excerise is absolutely essential. Many people look skinny because they don't have enough muscles. Do some excerise that will build up your entire body's muscles. (like swimming)
Also, don't do Jogging. In my opinion, that will only make you appear even more thin.

If you are young, it is best to eat and exercise, and let your body grow naturally. Don't worry about gaining weight, just focus on being healthy, and your body will look great, even if it's naturally thin.
Some other people will tell you to pig out - eat lots of fatty food. If all you want to do is gain weight, then simply increase the calories you eat. Drink soda, milk and juice instead of water. Eat as much as you can at one sitting. Eat green vegetables with butter, and lots of fried food like chicken and hamburgers. Extra butter, mayonnaise, or salad dressing.
But that doesn't usually make a skinny person look better. It usually just gives them a soft belly, flabby legs and arms, and love handles on their waist. The extra fat never goes where you want it too.
The key for you is to eat well, not just eat as much as you can. Make sure you eat three or four real meals each day, starting with plenty of protein (meat or eggs) for breakfast, along with lots of milk and grains, too. Make sure you are eating plenty of fruits and veggies, too.
If you are skinny, you should focus on getting plenty of exercise. You could start by bicycling, swimming or walking (better than running) but weight training or other strength exercises will fill you out with muscle, building an attractive body that is healthy and strong.

Some people are just naturally skinny - depends also how old you are, because if you're not in your mid 20's yet, then be happy that you're slim, because that's when your metabolism starts to really slow down. But if you're eating healthy and maintaining a good workout regime, then you're doing things right - just add weight training to add muscle and shape. Just remember to keep the balance and don't eat unhealthy stuff, because all you'll gain is negative weight. Good luck!

When you get older you may naturally gain weight--time will add on the pounds--espeiclally marriage! Make sure you are eating enough calories for your age and height. Eat several times a day from the basic food groups. No junk food please.
You may have a thyroid problem, some people get overweight with thyroid problems, others are underweight. This may be true in your case. Have the doctor give you a complete thyroid screen.

go to a health store such as GNC. They sell weight 2000 calorie weight gain shakes which are supposed to be used by bodybuilders to give them extra calories in order to build muscle mass. If you drank these and didn't work out, you would gain weight (fat) in no time.

don't eat junk! try to maintain a healthy diet. for breakfast have a bagel w/ cream cheese on it, or if you don't like that put what ever else you want on it! with that bagel have a glass of orange juice, apple juice, or milk. For lunch have a sandwich of some sort w/ chips and iced tea (if you like iced tea of course!) And for dinner include a sort of meat or some soup as a main dish, a salad as a starter and maybe some sort of dessert if you feel like some! Keep that up for about 3 weeks and you should DEFINENTLY see some results!

to keep your current weight , times the pounds by 10 calories per pound. IE: if you are 100 lbs. you need 1000 calories to stay the same weight. If you want to gain a lb. per week, add 500 calories per day for 7 days. One lb. of fat is 3500 calories.

You have two choices either you eat junk food (which is NOT healthy) or you drink those shakes (yucky but healthy).
You choose.
