For your height you probably need to lose a little weight, I think size 10-12 is fine (my sister is 5ft, she was a size 14-16 and now 10-12 and she looks great, any less would be too much!).
Don't go on a diet though just change your habits, you should lose the weight gradually which is better long term. Try to eat regular healthy meals, drink 2 litres of water a day, cut down on tea/coffee, alcohol, fat and sugar.
Still eat the things you like just cut down on the really "bad" stuff and where possible choose the healthier option. For example I used to eat deep pan pizza and chips, now I have 2 slices of thin pizza with loads of salad (and it's much nicer!!!).
Also, exercise, you will want to tone up too. Swimming is good, running, join a gym...... but anything is better than nothing. Just remember your body will be used to whatever you do now so if you do alot of walking (which will still help and is good), try to do something new too.
Hope this helps and good luck.
xx

What dress size do you think you should be? Most important is if you weight is likely to cause you a health issue. There are less health risks attached to being slightly over weight than to slightly under weight. There is also a lot of confusing information about what is a healthy weight. The most useful information I've found is the guidline offered by Dr. Margaret Ashwell.
Once you've establish that your health is not at risk regarding dress size the important things is you are at a size you are comfortable with. If you were happy and 10 - 12 and that's what you want to get back to then that's probably about right.

There is no particular size you should be. Only two things matter and they are your body fat percentage which should be no more than around 30% and your waist measurement which should be no more than 32 inches.
Everyone has their ideals, but your clothes size isn't dependant on your height, it is dependant on your body frame, amount of muscle mass and where you carry your fat. I'm 5ft2 and a size 12 (UK). I can't get below a size 10 (UK) because I have wide hips that just won't shrink that small!
You just stick with the clothes size that you feel most comfortable with. As long as you don't have too much body fat and your waist is a healthy size, then you are fine.
Take care : )

Its not about dress size, its about weight and a healthy BMI. (body mass index) You can check these stats out for your height at the weightwatchers website. Remember more regular exercise will help trim and tone your body, gaining a smaller dress eventually. Rapid weightloss will result in a dress size change obviously, but for a healthy, trim, toned body, exercise is essential.
