Ever heard of wire cutters?

What's amazing about this is that it doesn't do anything except waste money. Hell, many illegal immigrants use tunnels. So, a fence does wonders, huh?

There is no simple solution to illegal immigration. As the daughter of a man whose entire family immigrated legally, I'm opposed to illegal immigration because I don't see why they can't just follow the rules. I see the decision to do it illegally as an insult to my father and his family for the hard work they put into becoming citizens.

At the same time, America should take it as an intense compliment that Hispanics would risk life and limb just to live here. And we shouldn't necessarily reward them for that, but we don't have to be cruel to them either.

GREAT IDEA!!! It can't totally stop it but it can't hurt! Make it harder for the illegal alien criminals to come across. At San Diego the fence is pretty good. Crossings have gone DOWN at that point! So to all the critics of the fence that say it doesn't work, San Diego is proof it does.

Besides, if it doesn't work, way is Mexico so upset (AKA scared) about a wall? It's simple, because it WILL work.

As for if we want to "stop the influx" of the illegal alien criminals - DUH, YES!!!! They are destroying our country. BTW, there is no such thing an an "illegal immigrant." Immigrants are here LEGALLY. We have 20+ MILLION illegal alien CRIMINALS here in the US and they are costing us BILLIONS each year.

i'm Mexican, and stay in Mexico city, and that i agree which you quite prefer no permission from our government to do regardless of you like on your component of the border, yet meanwhile, how approximately you combating those racist communities (Minutemen between others) on taking photographs human beings in the barren region??? additionally, you will build a wall on your South border, yet i ask your self what is going to you do in the North? have not you think of that the actual terrorist are entering into trough Canada? nicely, I advise, if the rationalization to construct such fence is as GW Bush claims nationwide protection ....... evidently as in the adventure that your government is greater petrified of gardeners, babysitters and dishwashers!

I think its a waste of money, the money should be used for better resources, but I am just a simple tax payer, and the prez will do whatever he wants. Yeah, its great idea to beef up the bordrer and keep the illegals out, but we also need to enforce the immigration laws better, and start looking for the illegal ones already here and deport them.

The fence is a good start, but we also need enforcement of all immigration laws.

A better idea is a field of landmines at the border. The Illegal invasion must be stopped. It is an invasion, we don't need tens of millions of farmworkers, fast food cooks, maids, and day laborers.

Yes, it is a good idea. Good fences make good neighbors! The illegal aliens have not given anything to the US except increase in disease, crime and drugs. If you need any proof, just visit a California hospital and their jails and prisons.

i think that it is a good idea only because it is unfair to my family members in other countries who have applied for citizenship in america and have been waiting for an answer for almost twenty years.

Removing the Federal Reserve from our government and abolishing the IRS and turning fair tax collection and accounting over to the Government Accountability Office(GAO) i believe would have far better results. Just an idea however.
