This current flu is killing me! I've been to two different doctors since Feb 7. Both say I have the virual flu, I didn't know there was such a thing. They have taken blood and done chest x-rays and said both are ok.
Symptoms....fever going wild! Its been as low as 95.1, and high as 102.3. It will change as much as 3-4 degrees within just a couple hours.
Tired! Can't get enough sleep! I can sleep 12 hours, get up, and within 1-2 hours, exhausted again. And the usual, muscle aches, chills come and go. This has been going on for 2 weeks now, I'm getting concerned. All my shots are current (military reservist here), in good shape, work outside year round.
Is this normal for this strain? If so, how long will this last?

The flu isn't going to do major harm to an otherwish healthy person. I haven't heard of those manifestations of the "flu", however. I'll tell you this....all those vaccinations that they make you guys take are giving you lots of strange symptoms. That's what I would look toward with your symptoms.

Flu shot doesn't help this new strand.

It is absolutly dreadful. Everyone in my house had it (myself, both my children and my hubby)

Also be careful, just when you think it is gone, it can come back up to a month later. It never really leaves your body the first time around, just kinda lingers waiting to attack again when your immune system is compramised again.

Just drink lots of fluids, and take vitamin C.

Good luck and hope you get better soon.

Have no fear! You will get better! I just had the flu and then it developed into bronchitis. The fatigue you dexcribed is sooooo true with me...I was soo tired they tested me for mono!!! My fever had the same pattern as yours!!!! Like I said, I was sick for a month, and I'm feeling quite fluish again. I'm actually gonna go lie down right now. Anyways, before I go, drink lots of fluids and lots of rest. If your body is telling you to sleep, don't fight it!!! Sleep!!!! I know how you feel!!!! Its horrible but it will end eventually!!! I promise!!!

Good luck and God bless!!
