Chicken, yes.

Fish, no.

That's why everyone eats fish and clam chowder on Fridays.

With love in Christ.

Chicken is. Fish is meat as it is the flesh of an animal, however it isn't considered "meat" as such in Judeo-Christian religious terms.

That's why Catholics eat fish as a meat on Fridays.

Fish is generally considered OK for Catholic fasting, but not chicken. The idea is you shouldn't be eating anything that you actually enjoy, so even if you do eat fish, you shouldn't make it extra yummy. BUt if you're giving up meat anyway, why not go vegetarian?
