careful freckles are sun damage already. Being outside in general will make you darker esp. in the winter since the sun reflects off the snow more. Tanning booths not beds where they spray you i think are better than the beds. I've seen so many of my friends havebad tannning experiences.

Tanning beds are the worst way to become tanner. Even a little sunlamp exposure can increase your risk of skin cancer. One twenty minute session in a tanning bed is equavilant to one full day at the beach.

The best way to get tanner is to use a self-tanner. The one I think works best is Jergens Natural Glow. It is only about $5 at a drugstore & there are many other brand variations. It is a daily moisutrizer adds a little bit of color to your skin day by day, so it doesn't look fake or orange. I hope this helps. Good luck!

If you have fair skin use a sunscreen tanning oil and start out about 15 minutes in the sun. If your skin is olive you can use a tanning oil with less sunscreen in it but still start at 15 minutes in the sun. You can increase your time outside gradually but always have your oil or lotion on before going out. Don't rush and don't overdo. Less is better.
