Your doctor is an idiot you need to use Protopic (its stronger than Elidel) thats what I use and it makes my skin clear where I have exzema and when your exzema flares up you need some Triamcinolone. It doesnt go away your stuck with it. Only children can grow out of it if your a teen/adult your stuck with it. I hate having exzema too. With Protopic you will notice a change in your skin in 2 weeks. Vaseline isnt going to do a damn thing. Did you go to a doctor or a dermatologist? Oh and the medications I mentioned are prescriptions you cant get it over the counter. Also use hypoallergenic face/body wash/lotion/cosmetics on your skin to also keep your eczema under control.

If you suffer from eczema you have probably been given just about every type of topical cream known.
Few realise that he Gastro-intestinal tract is the main source of skin conditions.
The inner lining of the gastro-intestinal tract is the largest immune reactive surface in the body, amounting to the size of a small tennis court.
Within the GI tract this surface is repeatedly exposed to food particles, bacteria, yeasts, and other toxins that cause inflammatory reactions such as eczema.
Reassearchers have found that patients with ezcema have a much higher rate of GI disorders.
The Xanthones in Garcinia Mangostana are anti-inflammatory in nature and, in addition, they kill microbes such as yaest, bacteria, and fungi.
When the mangosteen xanthones are consumed on a daily basis, wonderful things begin to happen; your body starts to heal almost instantly.
Mangosteen can kill several bacterial strains which cause infectious diarrhea, the causative pathogen for ulcers and gstritis, ezcema, asthma and the list goes on....................

Eczema is a chronic (permanent) condition. There are things to do to relieve it some people respond to over the counter lotions. I have to use a combination of a topical steroid (prescription) oral antihistamine and lotions. If lotion is not working for you try to combine it with taking an over the counter allergy pill. It may take awhile to figure out what works for you. I've been dealing with it for years. It is always worse in the winter and sun exposure actually helps.

I use a 1% hydrocortisone ointment which is available over the counter without a prescription in the UK. This must be used sparingly. I find it works very well.
It may also be worth looking at your diet as there links to the food we eat and excema.

I have excema and I use calmine lotion for dry skin. It doesn't make the ezema go away but it prevents it from getting worse and makes it look a lot better,

Eczema is extremely hard to get rid of and I can't think anyway to speed up the process of recovery. Sorry!
