Eat right!!! Fruits, veggies, chicken, fish, etc. Exercise. Try walking. Set your goal at 4 miles in an hour. Try 20-30 minutes a day at a moderate speed and gradually increase the speed and distance. Do this at least 3-4 times a week and gradually work up to 5-6 times a week. Drink lots of water too.

I was a fat child and i never found people telling me to excersise and eat right any help. Not when my parents prepared my meals, bought fatty snacks and didnt let me go out on my own (they werent prepared to excercise with me either).
Being 12 dosnt mean you dont know whats healthy behaviour, i'm sure you arent stupid, so i wont tell you what to eat and what not to eat.
My only advice is to try and get your parents to understand nutrition better, so that they can help you. Get an aerobics dvd and get up early every morning to do it, if you dont have much pocket money then i'm sure nobody here would begrudge you downloading something like billy blanks tae bo cardio.
And try to eat porridge, oats and apples and drink plenty of water. these things will fill you up for a long time and stop you snacking!

I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.
It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.
A sight with some really cool diet calculators and interesting calorie counting calculators is here. Check it out.

Stay motivated, and get up and walk every day. I seriously lost all my weight starting off my day on my walk.
Good LUCK!

first, you need to feel good about your body. If you do not feel good about your body, you will not be able to accomplish anything. I know its hard, but you can do it!
Talk to your family and tell them you want to live a healthier lifestyle. They can help you make better choices. For instance, instead of buying school lunches, they can make you a lunch. If your family supports you, it will be easier to accomplish your goal.
Limit TV computre and any other sitting activities to no more than ONE HOUR A DAY, or LESS! Instead, turn on your favorite music and dance, do jumping-jacks, jump-rope (about 150 calories are burned in 15 minutes in this activitiy). Grab a friend and take a walk. Get involved in a sport. Trust me, getting outdoors and doing something physical will make you feel less stressed, teach you discipline, and make you feel good about yourself (not kidding!)
Limit your calorie intake. The best way to do this is by seeing a dietician- my friend did it and it helped her A LOT!!! I really reccommend it! Avoid school lunches, resturant meals, and espiecally FAST FOOD! I reccomend the books: Fast food nation, Calorie King (super!) and my favorite, Chew on This.
Whatever you do, believe in yourself, you can do it, and i strongly reccomend, seeing a dietician! good luck, and don't give up!

How tall are you? may be your height is appropriate for the weight? But to get rid of body fat, excercising is the best answer for people your age. Also watch what you eat. At this age your body is going through many changes and growth, so feeding on healthy foods is very important.
Good luck!
