Since you are a juvenile there is no finding of guilt, in fact there could be insufficient evidence to convict you if you were an adult. The juvenile justice system is intended to rehabilitate young offenders. Juveniles are either adjudicated (placed under the supervision of the court), informal action taken, or no action taken. The same burden of proof required in an adult system is not the threshold a juvenile judge must find. The court can deem that you are a delinquent in need of services and place you under the courts supervision.
In your explained circumstance I would foresee that the person in question would be adjudicated and be placed under thee supervision of the court until their 18th birthday and be required to be under the supervision of a juvenile officer.
If this is a first offense the likelihood of being in a lock down facility is remote, but not out of the question. If at any point during the courts supervision the offender continues criminal activity the likelihood of being placed into a locked down facility will greatly increase.

In Canada you could be charged with
-theft over $5000 (or under, depending on the value of the car)
-Possession of stolen property
-Being an occupant of a stolen motor vehicle.

Whether or not you do jail time will depend on lots of things,
-previous record
-damage to car/value of car

I have see young people get from 30 to 90 days in jail for these kinds of offences. I have also seen many of them get no jail time at all and only have probation, it really depends on the person's record. If this is a first offence there probably will be no jail time, except for maybe the night in jail you may get the day you are arrested and have to wait for bail court the next day.

Well if you have never been in trouble you will get probation for about a year or little over a year. The only time you may spend in jail is the time in which they caught you.The charges maybe grand theft auto or joyriding if you're the passenger. And depending on how the situation goes at time of arrest they may or may not add other miscellaneous charges

If you've been in trouble house arrest and/or jail for about 6 months.Pray about the situation jail is not the place to be.

it depends on just where you live. i would say the charges would be a felony with no time in jail for a FIRST offender.
