How do you know when a guy is flirting with you or if he really likes you? I am completely stupid to this and a lot of my friends think that a guy really likes me. They arent around us to notice interactions to tell for sure though, so I should probably make the call myself. Can you help me please?

I am a really shy person usually (and so is he), but when we get to talking we can talk for hours. I often see him staring at me in class and if I hold eye contact with him we both smile and look away.

When you think about it does it really matter? If you like a guy, go make the first move...
or if you're too shy for that, try to make eye contact, and if he holds it a little, smile (if he does this.. he likes you by the way)...
wait a bit for him to come over and talk to you... if he's too shy for that then you will have to start the conversation, but i'll assume you would want a more confident guy who isn't afraid of talking to people
oh, just so you know... There are a LOT of men that are just too shy to make the first move, its ashame really, and anyway, what is the worst thing that can happen if you start the conversation.

No, I would wait and make sure the guy likes you. If you make the call and the guy turns you down! you will feel more stupid! If here really likes you the way your friends tell you, he is going to make it possible. Also, if he flirts with you, return the flirt so he could know that you might be intersted on him.

You know if a guy is flirting with you when he talks to you in a kind of personal way, like other than what he would say to his guy friends. Also, he'll act a lot nicer when you're around, and he'll generally look at you and try to get your attention. If he is, he is totally flirting with you! Best of luck with this!

The only way to know for sure is to ask him. Because he may like you and not want to tell you (or he's waiting to tell you) or he just behaves that way normally and nothing is meant by it. Seeing as there is all that iffiness, I state again that the only way to know for sure is to hear it from him.
