The safest way would be to take it (or a picture) to a pharmacist. If you have something that you don't know what it is - do NOT take it. Take it to a pharmacist for safe disposal.

In the U.S. all prescription drugs must have a registered marking on it that can be referenced as to its identity. Do a google search for it.

You could try to email the FDA at druginfo@cder.fda.gov

They have a staff that can identify the pill by shape, color, markings, etc.

If you are not sure, DO NOT TAKE THE MEDICINE!
