She is really small and I have to feed her through a syringe so that she doesn't get hypoglycemic. She is feeling warm to me and her nose is not wet. She is not wanting to play. Should I take her to the vet? How can you tell if a puppy has a fever?

If she doesn't want to play she is in serious danger. She is not getting enough through the syring to sustain her. I would take her to the Vet immediately if the office is not open call the emergency number for instructions. Fever or not she is lethargic and requires immediate care.

I can't even begin to guess what "designer dog' scam a Shorkie is, but...these mixes are bred by unscrupulous people from poor quality parents. Let me guess: she is 'extra-teeny-tiny-teacup" blah, blah,blah... to maximize their profit & the poor suffering dogs' lifetime of health problems. Who reccomended she be syringe fed? Argh. Be prepared to spend a lot of time & money at the vets.

Next time: RESEARCH before you buy a dog & do NOT deal with these disreputable "breeders".

I read your questions hoping to find out what on earth a "Shorkie" is, but you didn't say.

Anyway.... A dog's temperature should be betten 99 and 101, and it's done rectally. Get her to the vet....

Where'd you find this BYB?

You need to get her to a vet asap!!! It sounds like she is either too young/small to be away from mom and/or she has some serious medical issues going on.
