Is life supposed to get more insane after someone gets saved? I feel more emotional, more "bi-polar", more ridiculous, and think about some weird stuff sometimes, and stuff occurs in my dreams (read other questions I've posted)... What's the deal? I thought my mind was supposed to get all flowery and positive? Or could it just be my own personality?

I don't think He's punishing me, but life is weirder... :)

Somehow I doubt that adding the idea of a judgmental punishing God who thinks of you as a miserable sinner is likely to bring peace of mind.

I've never heard the promise that things will get easier on us after we are saved. God will be there with us to help us carry the load, but you have to first learn how to let go of the burden. I don't think that's exactly what you are talking about though.

I can see how you may feel more emotional because you are starting a new way of life--you are trying to live right and fight against your old self. I've found that when I begin to have weird thoughts and crazy dreams that there may be something more going on with me. Perhaps God is trying to tell you something, or there may be some issues that are trying to surface. I would spend time praying to God. Ask him to deliver you of anything that may be troubling you. Try to figure out exactly what it is on your mind, then find scriptures or Christian books that can help you figure it out.

Being saved was the best thing you could have ever done. As soon as you chose GOD the devil got mad and is out to kill you and destroy your whole mentality. That's why your life, thoughts, and emotions feel crazy. Because the devil is really out to kill you that means GOD has a mighty work for you. Your life getting easier is a misconception. Just like Jesus suffered we have to suffer too, but like GOD YOU will be very very blessed. Just don't back down and don't give up. God can give you peace of mind everything is going to be alright. stay encouraged. If you need a christian friend to talk to email me at sweetie_aka_erica@yahoo.com!!

Satan wants you back.
I remember after becoming a christian I'd try to pray and cuss words would come into my head! I'd think, dang I can't even pray right! Well, I prayed about it and it didn't happen any more. Satan was messin' with me. He'll do the same to you. Pray about what's going on with you.
Also just because you are now a christian does not mean you life will be a bed of roses. It just means you'll have a relationship with God and you are saved from hell.
God bless you dear and keep praying!

God never promised us "perfection" in this life, only in the next when we join Him in heaven. Try getting beyond yourself, look around and see what you can do for others. Before doing anything, pray first and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance. You may need to offer it up and seek some professional help if you are "bi-polar" and may require medication. These are but a few options. God bless you and heal you if that be His Holy will....

Once you get saved, things do get better but not in the sense many people think. Life does not automatically become clear, but with continued pray and faith it does. Right now there are many things in my life that could make me negative and bitter, but i ask God for peace and His strenght and im learning to be positive. He never said it would be easy, but He promised to help us through it. He helps us become stronger by leading us through our weak points, that way if the problem ever comes again, you can be positive and know you can make it.

Newsflash: We are not in Heaven yet.

So you used to belong to Satan's kingdom (Eph 2:1-4), and now you have deserted him because of Christ...How do you think Satan views you now? Do you think that he might want to work you over even more? Sure, and Christ will use it to teach you to trust in Him even when it is tough. This process is called "Sanctification"...look it up!

Peter says that we are like nomads; aliens in another country. Its not easy, but you are far better off than before, when your destiny was eternally dark! Now that you see things in the light...it sometimes looks really cruddy... and scary...but now you see clearly...seeing the true life of spiritual reality.

Grace and peace be unto you. I have been a Christian for 19 years. My life has had its ups and downs. However, as I have matured in my faith my confidence in Christ has increased and so has my general sense of peace and well being.

As Christians our source of peace is in the presence of the living Christ. it is important to pray often and expect God to be present when you pray. It is important to pray from the heart and not out of mere habit.

I find it also helpful to sing hymns, songs, or recite the Psalms when I am not feeling well. As I lift up my songs to the Lord, He lifts my cares and gives me His peace.

You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.

First off, you need to understand the basic nature of man.

You are a spirit being, made in the image of God, and this is what
has been redeemed when you asked Jesus to be your Savior.

When the Bible refers to the heart. it is referring to the REAL you
as in Romans 10:9, 10.
Because of Adam, we ALL became SPIRITUALLY DEAD -- as in
a power outage.
On your own, you cannot make the power come back on, but
when God sent His Son into the earth to die for us, He made it
possible to access that POWER again through the BLOOD sac-rifice of His Son.
That is why Jesus said in John chapter 3, YOU MUST BE BORN
AGAIN.
We were DEAD in trespasses and sin and we could NEVER save ourselves. . . .and without Jesus coming to die in our place to redeem us with His precious blood, we would ALL be eternally condemned to hell...just by Adam selling us out to satan.
Read Romans 5.
Jesus had to be born of a Virgin, so He would not inherit our fallen
adamic nature. His BLOOD was totally pure and He was totally without ANY sin. He is the only One Who could be our sacrifice for sin and for our redemption.

Okay, you are a SPIRIT, you HAVE a SOUL, which is your mind, will, and emotions...and you live in a body.
Before you received Jesus as Savior, satan didn't have to play games with your mind or torment you, because you ALREADY belonged to him and we're condemned to spend eternity with him had you not heard the gospel and responded by trusting JESUS.

The very fact that satan is harassing you should be PROOF that you really ARE a born again child of God and you are SEALED by
the Holy Spirit and washed in the Blood of the Lamb forever.

You've got it right though, as soon as we become believers, it is, in the spirit realm just like being bi-polar....and the BEST way to fight satan is by the BLOOD of the LAMB by SPEAKING and by PLEADING the BLOOD over your life for protection. The BLOOD becomes the anchor for your soul, not the feelings and thoughts that satan is always trying to bring to your mind.
I KNOW from this. I've been there....and for me, EXODUS 12:13 is that ANCHOR, along with the whole Word of God. That is the way that Jesus came against satan -- matt.4.- by speaking the WORD OF GOD to him -- and satan will have no way to fight against it...especially when HE knows that YOU know that YOU are trusting in the BLOOD of JESUS and NOTHING but.....
This is NOT just some evangelical religious exercise or what-ever. This is for real. Paul tells believers to put on the ARMOR OF GOD and that is to FIGHT SATAN with. The SWORD OF THE SPIRIT i s THE WORD OF GOD and you need to speak it
aloud for whatever you need and for whatever satan is trying to throw at you to discourage you and paralyse you - spiritually - as aa child of God, which is what he WANTS after all.
This is an ALL-OUT war between the kingdom of God and the
kingdom of darkness, which is satan's realm, and even though he
was TOTALLY defeated when God raised His Son from the dead,
satan still has some time left in this world before this age comes to its end and he is bound in chains for 1,OOO YRS...and the war
is only going to get more and more intense as this world moves closer to the end when Jesus will come for His own and the world
that is left behind WILL suffer judgment for its anger and rebellion
againat God.

Here's a phone number that might help you. 3 actually.
