Your girlfriend/boyfriend is a friend that you are attracted to and you connect best with your significant other rather than your friend. Basically a really good friend upped to another level.

You don't french kiss a friend. You think and act out intimate thoughts about your significant other, AKA mate, lover, wife, girl friend, etc. However, there's another label that's the sex buddy,. Some don't like to kiss just to keep the heavy emotion out of it.
