I would set up a business for the homeless in which each person would have a Case Manager.

1. They would have physicals and their health needs would be cared for. Addictions would be addressed.

2. They would have psychological counseling and evaluations.

3. They would be given clean clothes and a lovely room in a new dormitory.

4. They would have a hot meal 3 times a day of which they would learn to cook and serve themselves.

5. Every evening, around the fire, we would sing and share the good things that have happened in the day. An inspirational speaker would be invited and they would be encouraged to share their story. I would plant "hope" in their hearts, hope that would give them incentive to overcome.

6. They would be taught how to take care of each other. They would become family.

7. Every day they would attend suitable, training classes in the new facility.

8. After lunch they would rest before an outing of exercise or field trip.

9. The children of the homeless would be given special attention. They would have opportunities for music lessons, swim lessons, tutors, all the supports that would help them grow into functional citizens.

If funding were unlimited, this would be a 12 month-12 year plan.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if such an opportunity was more than a "dream".

Although I have more that 12 hours and limited resources at this stage, I have started a non-profit group that helps a small area in Tanzania, E. Africa. With 12 hours of unlimited resources, I would go absolutely crazy trying to get done all that I have seen a need for in this area. There is no clinic in the area I visit, so very sick people have to travel to get to the doctor. Most do not have the funds available for busfare and doctor care. Schools, even National Schools, have fees and the school in the area I visit is in dire need of repair and supplies, so I would fix up the school and sponsor even more children than my organization is currently able to sponsor. And, many people have to walk miles a day for 1 bucket of water. I would provide wells in the area so that water is more accessible to the people. And, that's just a start!

I would start a cultural education campaign. It would dominate the media. I would basically just pay for it and write a mission statement. I could finish it later after my 12 hours was up.

I would get lawyers to help me and I would come up with a clause that would allow people to take someone to court for portraying anyone in the media in a racist way. This would help with cultural education. Same with this pay for it and get it started. The thing is once you pay for something your set, well this is captilist America..

I would hire awesome lawyers for all the tribes in America so they can better fight for their rights.

I would also start a fund that would allow great education centers to be built all over American and then in other countries.

I would also start a fund for housing and food donations.

I would also start a fund that gave tax cuts to anyone who supported environmental rights.

12 hours isn't too long so that's probably all I could do, but there really is so much!

I would organize different groups of people according to their interests and abilities and then assign projects accordingly. Like a beach and sidewalk cleanup for parents and children to do together, trees and flower planting for the horticulturalists, spay/neuter for those with knowledge in veterinary medicine and even a trap/ release program, time permitting, for the stray animals in the community...distribute food, clothing, and other needed amenities to various shelters and also to the homeless, spend time teaching illiterate adults to read and write,a nd most importantly, a soup and shower kitchen where everyone can have their fill until my time constraints are met.

I would hire people to get helicopters and drop food EVERYWHERE that it was needed. Wherever there are hungry people, I will drop food. I would also buy a whole bunch of double wides for anyone who needed a home and then give them a bunch of money to start off with. Then, I would assassinate president Bush. Ahem. That is how I would help people.
