Try a European Starling they are extremely common. During the spring they are all black with a bright orange beak. They eat insects, berries, and seed.

yes, a species of blackbird. Also there is a Weaver, the Toucan but I may be mistaken on this one so check me on wikipedia (they eat fruit so why not the seeds?)
