The idea of 'going public' is a bad one. It will get you labeled a 'kook', or at the very least some New Age eccentric. There have been famous show psychics, like Uri Geller. Why go public? Are you seeking recognition? Starting a home business? Proving your superiority? Public response is likely to be mostly ridicule. Out of those who warmly receive you, at least 1/4 will be a nut of some kind. The best thing to do is to attempt to network with others who have similar interests. Do some Web research and see if there is a paranormal study group in your city. Maybe even a group of psychics who have already met each other might have a web site or Yahoo group or something. Try MySpace and networking tools like that too. Just keep an eye out. You know some con artists make a decent living just pretending to be psychic. You may not be old enough to remember the psychic phone lines that sprang up all over in the 1980's, like some fad. I know this exists and is for real, but the Media doesn't know what to do with it. You have to keep it real in some way. Performing tricks in public, advising strangers on how to live their lives, these are kinda sketchy. You could study law enforcement, those inner tools could be useful in that field. I once read about an officer of some kind who studied remote viewing. If you don't know, remote viewing (rv) is like astral projection. It is like looking at something from a distance. He was called in on a bomb scare at a school. There was a gym bag in the locker room that someone said had a bomb in it. He 'checked it out', determined there was no bomb, went it and proved it.

True psychic abilities is a contradiction in terms. You might as well believe in some omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent cosmic Santa Claus.
No such thing. Doesn't exist.
The James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) has offered a prize of $1,000,000 for anyone who can demonstrate "a supernatural ability under agreed-upon scientific testing criteria." The X Prize for building your own spaceship has been won but no one has come close to winning the JREF prize.

Wouldn't true psychics KNOW whether to go public or not? Why would they be afraid if they knew stuff psychically?
I have precognition sometimes, and very occasionally clairvoyance. But I never know when I'm going to get it (though it's accurate when it comes through.) So it's kinda unreliable in that sense.

No, They shouldn't be afraid. A little nervous but not afraid. No I don't have these abilities. If you have these abilities maybe tell a couple people if you don't wanna go public. If you do wanna go public try something small, like a news interview. If you wanna go big, try having your own Television show.

No, seriously, everyone would just say that I'm crazy. However, I've done things that completely spooked people and they called me on it. I correctly predicted (before the season even started) that the Florida Gators would be the BCS champions. I told my husband exactly which place he would take his new job after finishing school. I asked a friend about another mutual friend because she was on my mind, turned out she had died a sudden death.
That's not nearly all of it. However, I can regularly tell how people standing near me are feeling. Sometimes, it even creeps me out. But no way would I ever go public with this. I use an alias for Yahoo Answers and that is the only reason I posted this.

I don't think people have true psychic abilities. And if by some chance they do, it is not from God, that is for sure.

if i had these abilities i would be super scared to let other people know. people would be completely annoying with asking what will happen to them in 20 years. it would just be a really bad idea. maybe a few family members.

Hell no! Go to James Randi and he will give you a million dollars.
Give the money to the poor if you don't want it.
At JREF, we offer a one-million-dollar prize to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event.

Nobody has these abilities. If someone would, they would need to absolutely prove it to society and make their skill useful.
