God asserts his power and authority in the way one would expect to hear from a king. It seems no different than Caesar, Henry VIII, or George III.

"Behold I am against you, Pharoah king of Egypt." Ezek. 29:3

"You shall love the LORD your God, and keep his charge, his statutes, his ordinances and his commandments always." Deut.11:1

"I will gather a remnant of Israel." Micah 2:12

And Jesus spoke repeatedly of "The Kingdom of God."

Etc.

What makes God's statements different from a celestial monarch, a simple head of state?

Since we are now living a democracy, what relevance does kingship have? We choose our own leaders now. What relevance can a desert, monarchist religion have in the present age?

It allows people to not have to come up with their own philisophical views. It makes it so they never have to try to enlighten themselves to the scientific theories of the world. It is a saftey blanket reassuring them that they will be rewarded in the afterlife for what they do now.

God is relevant in all societies. Don't let the relativism of post-modernism or the skepticism of modernism lead you to believe otherwise. In fact, the kingship of God is less relevant to teaching people of a democracy about God but that doesn't make his being less relevant. Still, you can learn much about God even as a king, but perhaps more-so as a father.

The difference is God made us and that is why he acts like a king but really He is our father and we are his sons and daughters. He is omnipotent but yet caring and loving.Kings dictate so they can get richer,God gives us rules to live by because He wants the best for US.We need God to help us through struggles and every day life.Think about this kings make mistakes and they sin,but God is perfect ,completely perfect. He knows everything and is always there for us.He will never do anything to us that we can not handle nor force anything upon us.His love enduress forever.

God bless! :)]

God has been and always will be the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Everyone in this world is exactly where they are supposed to be, it is God's will. Religion is man made , not God made. And your title should be changed to "Kings statements mimic what God says and has said"

God is eternal truth, if you want to be a leader, study God. Jesus was the King of Kings.

Yahweh was the cosmic king who would protect the Jews when their real king was getting his rear handed to him by the Babylonians or some other well equipped city-state.

Why anyone feels the need to continue the belief is beyond me.

God doesn't exist. He's not relevant to anything.

However, the stories about God do reflect the culture he was created in.

Exodus 5:2 et. al. (to Pharoah) "Please let my people go"

Sounds dreadfully demanding. Consequently, it proves that though God spoke like a king at one time, earlier he spoke differently...and now he speaks to us through his Son...who is savior.
