I am new to saltwater fishing, and I want to buy a fishing rod. And a fishing reel. I would also like to know some websites that have good fishing tackle. Can you also list your favorite kind of tackle.

Thanx

Hey, are you from USA or England?

If you live in USA, do NOT buy Bass Pro stuff. Some of it is total junk, and I can not stress it enough. Get your mail order stuff from Cabelas: www.cabelas.com

They ship quickly and sometimes have some really good sales on stuff.

Follow my links! I've bought from these people all my life (I'm 14 now and started fishing at 5 or 6) and let me tell you, they have yet to dissapoint me. And I would recomend going in the stores and not buying online so you know exactly how big the stuff your getting is! And also, it doesn't really matter what fishing rod & reel you buy because back a long time ago they used to use rope and a tree branch or a bamboo stick to catch fish. It's not like the rod & reel attact the fish! So just get something that can bend and that is strong and it will be allright. I would reccomend for the rod a Ugly Stick (It never let me down) and for the reel, just get something that matches the rod!

It really depends where you're going to be fishing and what you're going to be fishing for. I'd suggest you check out a local tackle shop or check out what other people are using where you're planning on fishing. Once you have an idea of the type of tackle you need, then start shopping around for a good price, whether it's on ebay or one of the online tackle shops -- or you might just end up buying at a regular old tackle shop. (no shipping fees, and generally you can get good advice as well.)

Put them on Ebay. A friend of mine sold some older rods and reels on ebay to a man in Japan. It cost this guy more to ship it to him than the stuff that he bought but he did not care about that. In Japan, fishing gear is a big business.

Check out ebay, I have bought lots of fishing equipment on there at very good discounts.

As far as favorites for saltwater, you cant go wrong with Penn or Shimano. good luck to ya.
