No offence to any ladies intended.
Will you agree one of the fears a guy has when he approach a girl for a date is that he will get rejected and perhaps even chided?
Is this the main problem of the first move?
I don't mean all ladies will reject or chide a guy. I mean just the fear.

Of course.
I mean, there are other factors - looking like a dork in front of other people, fear that she'll make fun of him with her friends, etc. - but rejection has to be the biggest fear people face when asking someone out.

Probably, but there are always clues that a woman is interested which makes asking her out a lot easier. I had a guy tell me once that he was afraid to ask me out because he thought that I would say no or that I was too good for him. I think that was silly because I flirted with him all the time when I saw him. I was just unsure if he was into me because he never asked me out! I don't know what the big deal is. You lose some and you win some, but you never know unless you try. What does a man have to lose? Yeah..OK it sucks if she says no..but if you don't ask her then you will never know...I would just take the chance and ask. If a woman chides you then she wasn't a good person in the first place..Move on. Some women think they are too good for some guys and are mean about it. Pay attention to how she acts with people. I'm a good person I would never do that to someone. If I wasn't interested..I'd be honest, but never ever cruel.

To some guys being rejected is the main problem of them making the first move. But confidence should always be the key to a successful first move in approaching a lady. Some women are just either having a bad day or just overall mean so you have to know what you are doing whenever you approach a woman.

im still not sure what youre asking, but yes i think a guys ego is too fragile to not worry about rejection. thats why a lot of times, guys will approach a girl who looks like shes having a good time and is down to earth. they wont approach the girl with the perfect outfit looking like she'll shatter in peices if a girl so much as smiles at her. and ladies can smell the fear on a guy if he has no confidence. so for guys--they should fake fake fake it and try not to let that nervousness show

thats a sign of an insecure man in my opinion. I think thats a huge turnoff when a man can't and won't act like one. So you get rejected! Hello! Wake up call, we are all rejected in life in some way, shape or form...so suck it up, its not the end of the world. I was rejected by a man before and I've sucked it up, if I can u can too :)
