I become very itchy after showers now and find it lasts for days, it graduely gets better with time though, aslong as i stay away from the shower :(
From reading some of the answers on this site I've found it could be my skin becoming drier; my hands do show this a bit more now too. I've moved to Norway from the UK now, maybe the air here is drier or something?
I don't drink a lot of water through the day which could be the problem, the main reason for this is i never feel like drinking much and if i do i spend the day going to the toilet :(

Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be and how to help?
Thanks

baby oil or baby lotion. Its gental and won't irirrate your skin any further.

turn the temp down in your shower, hotter water removed more oils from your skin.

Switch to a glycerine soap. I have a friend who makes them and they are excellent for dry skin!

Do you take really long hot showers? People tend to take warmer showers than normal when the weather is cold and this contributes to dry skin. The best thing you can do is lather up with a good lotion or body butter as soon as you get out and towel off. This will help your skin retain some of the moisture from your shower. I've just tried the new Johnson's and Johnson's baby lotion for adults and its fantastic.

switch your soap around it could be too harsh for your skin type also your laundry detergent fabric softener. It is important to drink lots of fluid to get rid of the toxins in your body and it could be hard water for your area, have your water tested if the above does not help. Good luck!

Aloe vera gel or juice applied on the itching skin, stops the itch and reduces swelling. It also cools the skin.More cheap and natural remedies for itching at the link below.

sounds like a case of real dry skin. use a good lotion when you get out of the shower. apply immediatly while your skin is still moist. also try not to take real hot showers. that can dry out your skin too.
