I just felt like saying that the loving praise and glorifying is not of any kind of arrogance or greed from God. People of the Christian religion, as free as they are to do it, simply praise their Lord out of gratitude and love. Just as a child would to a parent, really. So it's not about insecurity, as an insulting and intolerant person assumingly declared, it's about freedom of love towards a Holy Father. That is all. Accept it! I accept certain people cannot affirm that they know Him or believe in Him. I understand. Therefore, out of your own unknowings, just accept! Period.
Edit: To that Dimension user... I thought I should add, after reading your answer, that it was quite narrow-minded. God creating for Himself? Please... learn a bit more about this subject. Read Scott Peck's books-- he'll explain everything thoroughly and still easily.

God is also supposed to be feared. Praised. Respected. Egotistical, i think not. Do you really think a being such as God is up in the heavens, or universe up there gloating? Hmmm? Pretty deep question, very hard to answer. The bible also says fear me. Respect, and love. It doesn't say just glorify him. I understand that you don't know, and maybe aren't religious. All I know is I'm not taking any chances and going to live an eternity of love. this life we live on earth is a blink of an eye for what we are in-store for when we pass. Our body's are just tents for our souls for whats to come if you accept. I'm no bible bumper, but I do believe. I don't even think the all mighty hates gay people, or thieves or what everyone thinks is wrong. As long as we accept and repent. We have an eternity of happiness ahead of us, and I hope i see you there. Lot's of love!!! =0)

If praise from us pleases him, it pleases him. We cant possibly no why that works. That is actually pretty significant that our omnipotent creator is pleased by our praise. We should take full advantage of that.
Ya, I struggled with that egotistical thing a bit. Im a christian but im not afraid to say I don't understand some things.
One thing, If you think about it. Egotism is usually related to people who do not necessarily deserve it. We say, who is he to feel that way or say that about himself. Even if they are great in one area, there are other areas where they are lacking.
Got is omnipotent, omniscient, and there is none like him. From everlasting to everlasting he is God. He cant praise anybody, He cant give glory to anybody. There is nobody to hold him accountable. His will is brought to pass in all things.
I guess he just deserves it.

It's different because you have no virtues worthy of eternal praise, so you should rightly feel that you wouldn't want that. Just like you can't judge another man till you've walked a day in their shoes, you certainly can't judge God.

no offense but that is the reason that GOD has created us is to praise him till the day we die i mean look at the world that he has made for us look at everything GOD has given us that we take fo granted. why not praise GOD or take only 25min a day just to say thank you try looking at other religions for example Islam and islam means peace maybe by looking at other religions that will help answer your question

Since you do not deserve constant adoring, I would imagine that you would get bored and eventually embarassed but then you are not Father God. Almighty God has no ego. Doesn't need one because He can do everything perfectly.

What you are describing is Vanity...
He does seem quite vain.. I shall create something to worship me and all the glory that is me. It shall also worship only me and nothing else, and if it doesn't I shall damn it to a fiery place where it will suffer for all eternity.. My goodness that's vain.

God does not need us but, he knows that we need him and he also knows that we do not want to do what is good for us so he makes it a law to go to him so he can help us. I feel sorry for him, he is so misunderstood and treated like dirt when we are the dirt.

I don't think it's egotistical at all. I don't mind worshiping ALLAH 5 times a day.
