I want to be a better christian and stop being so depressed and enjoy my life. Any guidelines to being a good christian for teenagers? Other than the ten commandments. I just want to be closer to god and I need to know how to stop misbehaving when I'm around my friends.

Um....I would think yahoo answers is probably not the best place to get advice on Christianity. Why not ask your priest or pastor or parents, or whatever. Or maybe just use your brain and do what makes sense. If you think something isn't right, don't do it. Simple as that. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that much out.

Okay, do you know the Two Commandments?
Love God with all your heart, mind and spirit? And second to that is Love your neighbor as yourself.
Love yourself enough to get a backbone and stand up for Jesus.
Being Christian, is NOT a cakewalk and none of us should expect it to be.
It is hard stuff, but it is exciting, exhilarating it is the best.
Live for God, plan on going on a mission trip, even if it just around the corner look for people to lift up out of the bondage of self and sin!
Ask God to make you what He wants you to be and let Him decide where He wants you in His mission to conquer the world with overpowering goodness, mercy, love and justice.

I was in this position, but i still struggle with it. What i did was pick up some books, like daily devotions, and I bought a lot of bibles so i could surround myself with them. Then i talked to my youth pastor, and my youth group leaders (if your not in a youth group yet, try and find one! They are the best) and my best friends who are christians. I prayed with them and even did some of my daily devotions with them and discussed some christianity problems with them, to get their point of view. If you need someone to talk to, you can e-mail me. good luck!

I don't know if this will help in your faith, but 9/10 people on Y/A are crackpots spouting nonsense all day. A good guidline is not asking these freaks for advice.
Good luck!

A good Christian must kill (according to the Bible):

Everyone who works on the Sabbath, teenagers who drink too much, unbelievers, homosexuals...

Haven't done this yet? Well, get busy!

Odd...one would think that basking in God's adoration all day long would eliminate depression and lack of enjoyment of life.

I'll ask my atheist kids. Oh, wait. They have no such issues.
