There are two possible ways, that are both easy & scrumptuous
One:
Add chocolate icecream and milk (or chocolate milk, if you like it extra chocolatley) into a blender and blend
Two:
Add vanilla icecream and milk (or chocolate) and chocolate syrup, fudge or anything that will blend/combine with the vanilla to make it chocolatey
Other great combinations:
Through some oreo's into your milkshake for a treat!
Peanut butter in a chocolate shake
You can add protein powder or calcium etc to make a milkshake more nutricious
One final tip,
don't use ice in your shakes, it makes them more watery, icecream & milk combine fine remember to start out with alittle milk and add more gradually because you can always add & can't extract, until you get your desired thickness
happy snacking =)

Three regular scoops of ice cream, 3 or 4 oz of chocolate syrup, in a large (20 to 25 oz) tumbler or in a regular Hamilton Beach Shake Blender or in a regular blender. Add milk so that the total volume is at least 16 to 18 oz. Mix Well. This is a shake. Its called an Egg Creme in New York. If you want to make it a malt, you simply add a spoonful of Malt Powder to the mix. Now you have a Chocolate Malt instead of a Chocolate Shake.
A second popular item from the early 50s is called a Chocolate Phosphate. Simply add 2 to 4 oz of Chocolate Syrup to 10 to 16 oz of Seltzer Water or Club Soda. Mix and there you are.
These beverages are best served in tall shake glasses(narrow at the bottom and wide at the top) with a couple of straws and maybe a long spoon for the shake when the ice cream is not completely blended.

well you need some tool to blend the milk the other ingredients.
a blender is a good thing as too are the hand held things with the little blade in the bottom
ok get some vannilla ice cream some chocolate syrup some milk. pour about one cup of milk into the blender . then add about 1/3 of a cup of chocolate syrup. now add two large scoops of ice cream. put the top on the blender turn it on slow then increase the speed to max. watch the ice cream get hit by the blades and mixed with the milk. once this all looks like a thick mixture and is chocolate coloured you can remove the top .
use a spoon to taste the mixture. add more chocolate and more ice cream as needed until your happy with the mix and the flavour. the milk shake should be rich thick and pour slowly but not to slowly . there should not be large lumps of ice cream in it if so mix it up some more.
there you have a milkshake

Put 5 scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream in a blender (No Vanilla Bean, or French Vanilla, it takes away from the chocolate flavor), pour milk about half way up the ice cream... but go slow, you don't want it too runny. Next, use your favorite chocolate syrup, tip it upside down (open of course) over the blender and squeeze, I like it chocolatey, so I prefer for about 10 seconds in a circular motion. Next, put the lid on and blend away. Enjoy!!!!!

Use chocolate ice cream--as in 3 or 4 scoops, add a couple tablespoons of chocolate syrup and a dash of milk--blend and add a teaspoon of vanilla and blend a second and enjoy.
