Their tactic is not to threaten violence but to suggest that their big friend is going to get heavy with us if we don't love him.
If I was their god I'd be insulted that they thought I had such an eggshell ego. But they do it all the time. They're mad.

That's a very good question. God gives us the choice whether or not to love and obey him. It is not that God is threatening us with violence because we don't love him so much as that he is warning us that he will rid the world of evil. Look around and it can't be argued that this world is evil. God cannot abide that. And it isn't fair to those who do love him and obey his commandments, those who love peace and order to have to live forever alongside the threat of those who don't. For the good of all concerned God is going to do away with evil. And the Bible says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Revelation 21:4
P.S. Why should those who live as they wish, reaping violence, imorrality and destruction be rewarded alongside those who shunned such practices? Do you reward your disobedient children alongside those who are obedient and respectful? Don't you chastise your children for disobeying you, for disregarding your rules, for disrepecting you? How much more does the right God have to chastise humanity for the same but on a much larger scale, just as he exists on a larger scale than we? Let's not be hypocrites. It isn't as though you haven't been warned for thousands of years now. Just how much time do you need? God won't wait forever for us to make up our minds. We should count ourselves blessed that he waits at all.

Funny how the bible seems to present a different case. It states that it's not God's will that any should perish, but that all should receive eternal life.
Then God proved this through Jesus, who made the ultimate sacrifice to pay for all sin.
Hell wasn't created for humans. It was created for the devil and his minions. People, by virtue of their sin, consign themselves to that fate. It's like receiving a grade for a test. The teacher is the one who issues the grade, however the student is the one that earned it. The difference here is that even though the student failed, the teacher gives the student a way around failing. But if the student rejects that offer, then they must keep the grade they earned.

The bible spends much more time talking about the LOVE God has for us. Hell is mentioned but there is much more time and space devoted to how much we are loved and how much God wants to bless us.
If you don't want to love God, then don't. Why be upset at those of us who DO love him? How does that affect you?

You don't need to love God, only keep his commandments.
I love God because he created me, created everything tangible around me and gave me a mind and heart to enjoy his creation.
Violence and suffering are caused by us humans for not using our intellect the way God wants us to.

No I don't use threats and violence to get people to love me, but it is very tempting to take people like you who are constantly mocking us and slap them with a large trout.
Sometimes I wonder if some of you people have any brains at all.

the bible plainly states he wants us to fear him. that is to respect him , like we would our parents. We love them and respect them and try not to do anythng that is wrong. We slip up, and they punish us, but they still love us. God is the same way to me. I love him, and I respect him, and I fear him. Not in a bad way but a good fear. A fear that I love him so much I try not to do anything to disrespect him, just like my parents.Violence only pushes people the other way. Violence is not the answer. We love people in. No judgement-No Violence. Totally Wrong!!!!

Jehovah God forces no one to serve Him. God wants people to love and worship him because they want to, not because they feel forced. We were all created with the gift of free will and that is a beautiful gift from Jehovah God. God is love, and if we do not have love we are nothing.

Hi Iblis, in Christians we are not allow to use violent. We are suppose to love and forgive our Enemy. Our God are so powerfull so He can protect us from any harm. Do you see any Christians do suicide Bomb that kill many innocent people, do you see any Christians do hijack plane and kill many innocent people. Not in Christians. But there are many in Islam because of the Quran that are full of violent, full of hate, full of discrimination and no free will. There are too many Iblis in Quran. All the Christians are know that We are not allow to use Violent under our God Name. Not like all the jihadist/Mujahidin, they are all killing other beleiver in the name of Allah that they beleive are God of Abraham. Which I doubt it.
