Yes, it can used like a credit card in some instances if it has a Visa or Master Card logo and your signature on the back of it.

Yep. Some places run it like a CC and you sign for it. The other day I was in a store and I used my debit card. No pin pad, no signature. They didn't even check my ID as I request on the card. It was Hastings by the way.

If they physically have the card some places allow you to scan your card as a credit card which doesn't require the PIN. The situation that pops into my mind right away is that the pumps at some gas stations allow you to do this. If your card was stolen you should call your bank and let them know as soon as possible.

Sure... if it has the Visa or Mastercard logo on it... they can use it like a charge card without entering a PIN !
