The secular society is there to protect you folks from each other. The fact that it protects us agnostics, atheists, new agers, heathens, wikkans, Jews, Muslims, subgenius, pagans, hindus, Buddihists, Sykhs, and any that I missed.... is just gravy.

I'm sorry Giraffe....I just want to make sure that I understand your argument...because I am frankly BAFFLED that anyone would make it.....

Because one idiot said something stupid about the towers means that it's rampant in public schools.....ok.....

Our society...which is based on having an educated labor force....would be better without access to schools for children......

Our government...which is expressly based on having an educated population....would be better able to function with their poltical and voting duties if we eliminated public schools.....

People who can't afford it don't deserve it?....

Giraffe....the nation would collapse.

I'm not even going to respond to this....it's really that stupid.

I realize the Christians think that they have the monopoly on prayer and that by putting “prayer back into school” that it’d only be the Christian variety. But they are wrong. If prayer was in school you’d have to be fair about it after all in America we are a richly diverse society, where a great many people believe a great many things.

So Christians, when your child comes home from school and tells about her morning meditation or prayer to Shiva or hymn to Inanna, that's not a problem, is it?

How would you react if instead of rallying around the flag poll to say a prayer to Jesus in the morning, it was a prayer to Thor?

Let's keep the barriers between the state and the church firmly in place. No child (and no parent) should be made to feel less American or inferior because they are part of a religious minority or non-religious.

The Federal Government was created to unite the States in: Executive, Judicial, Transportation, & Milatary. So how is collecting taxes part of this original plan? It's not. Some socialist butt - wipe came along, and said, "Free School for All" --- sounds great at first glance right? I agree.

Look at how history has unfoled the "Free Education". We're paying for teachers who teach that more of the "911" Attacks should happen, then they're excused 'cas of tenor --- My spotted hairy giraffe butt --- oh, and then they want to take "God" out of the Pledge. . Ahhhh.

Ok, Education was initiated by the religions over 4,000 years ago. We see this in China, Russia, Western & Eastern Europe. So, instanly, since "taxation" forces us to pay for public education to teach kids to bomb --- well, I say to limit school. It's not part of the original plan of the Federal Government.

Not fair, we'll have to pay for private schools, right? Wrong, look at the drop-out rate. Once we say, "No free School for you", well you bet there will be greater appreciation for Education and kids won't shun and make fun of intelligent kids anymore. They'lll strive for excellence instead of whinning to go. Lastly, the religious beliefs usually come together to help communities of their faith. Let Christians educate Christains, and other religions educate their own. Athiest can have Athiest schools --->

Just stop taking MY TAX $$$ for something that's failing under the Federal Government.

If the prayer is done on a one by one basis.
What makes you think that everyone is a christian?
Everyone praying the same prayer.
Supposed it is a Satanist's turn, are the Christians supposed to pray along with him. I don't think so.
I think that it is a good thing that we do not have the school prayer.
If it has to be done then it is done on a one by one basis and you never know who it is that is next to you.

Christians can't even agree amongst themselves which of the christian religions is going to heaven. Do you really think that they would be able to agree on who is "christian enough" to offer a prayer...?
