I heard they go down when they are teething. But will they go back up? How long does this usually take? And can Mange kiil my dog?

Chihuahua's ear go up and down whenever they want, depends on their mood.

I don't know about your mange question.

Don't tape up your puppy's ears. If they have stood at any time before now they will stand eventually. Even if they haven't stood up it is highly likely that they will. It will take a few months and you may see one ear up and the other down or both up or both down for a few months yet. Be patient this breed is supposed to have ears that stand naturally.

As for mange there is two kinds. One is easily treated, but contagious to other dogs (scarcopitic mange). The other kind isn't contagious, but harder to treat because it means the dog doesn't have a good immune system. This problem needs to be addressed by a vet to figure out what kind the dog has and the appropriate treatment. It probably won't kill the dog but it is very uncomfortable.

Haha I remeber when I first got my chihuahua when he was 9 weeks. His ears were down also. They started to stick up for a little but then they went back down. We went to the vet to give him some shots and we asked why they haven't stayed up yet and the vet told me that his ears were still too heavy for him. Trust me your chihuahuas ears will stick up soon enough. But when they do you'll really miss them being down. Its so cute. But still they are cute even with their ears up. I hope I helped and saved you a phonecall/ trip to the vet! Also It depends on whether the Mange is vicious or does not get along with dogs? But It depends on what mange you are talking about? Is it a dog? A horse? But anything can kill a small dog like that if it really wanted to. So if its vicious just keep it away. I hope I helped

For the ear part if you really really r worried about that then u could take a piece of cardboard or something stiff and tape it to its ears. It always works for dobermans. Mange- no but it can cause hair loss, scabs, and itching and it can go to humans if not properly treated. Ask your vet for treatments
