The dog is doing what it is trained to do. If you were inconsistent or stopped training too early then the dog is going to have accidents.

First a few questions...how long have you had your pup? How did you train him? Are you consistent?

At 7.5 months old, he should know the rules by now. Please don't blame your pup, you're probably not being very clear so he's just confused.

I would go back to basics. Watch him like a hawk (you know the warning signs). Take him out after every activity (eating, napping, playing)

Use a command like "hurry up" or time to go" when it's time to do his business. Don't forget to reward him hugely when he does it right.

Don't reprimand him if you didn't actually catch him doing it (that's why you need to watch him closely) Otherwise he'll think it's not OK to go at all and he'll just start hiding it.

Lastly, clean up his messes with an odor neutralizer made especially for pet stains. If he can still smell it, he'll remark.

Good luck!

He is still pretty young, not having complete control is pretty normal I think. My St.Bernard would wet the bed alot until she was a year of so. And I do mean "wet the bed",she has one in my room. All my other dogs have always mastered house trainging early,7-9 months. It is frustrating with the odors and all. There is a product called Kids N Pets Odor cleaner. It works quite well,it nutralizes the urine so the odors aren't as bad. We shampooed often, and even pulled the carpet up and replaced some foam underneath, the moisture gets trapped in the foam and soaks the area below it,staining and odors. Used the Kids/Pets stuff and I was very happy to see the stain and odor diminished. Good luck.

I agree there's a shrink except the youngster is bodily disabled or has some psychological incapacities. i might sit down as a kinfolk unit, and are available to an settlement on the thank you to approach the problem of potty training her. it relatively is taken under consideration needed to have consistancy at the two residences and in any preschool/daycare putting. That on my own can choose for the problem. My wager is the if it relatively is the youngest infant or purely infant for the mummy, it relatively is permitting her to maintain the daughter her "infant" and can be the clarification she isn't potty knowledgeable staggering now. this is form of milestone for oldsters and enables the youngster extra independence and a few human beings have difficulty with that. Her surgeon can even have some powerful education to get you the place you opt for for to be with this subject.

Chances are you are progressing him too quickly. Whatever you are doing during the time he is going outside keep doing it and don't change anything. If he regresses then take him out more frequently and keep it up until he is at 100% for quite awhile. The second you change something your puppy will become confused and will regress. Things such as waiting longer between potty breaks or taking him to a different location, or even taking him out for shorter trips will throw him off. Be extremely consistient for awhile and see how it goes.

You need to crate train him until he is officially potty trained. If your dog goes in the house he's not fully potty trained. It's just probably a coincidence that he goes every other week. You need to watch him
