my 4year old child is getting picked on my her teachers because of something she saw. she saw other child in her class getting picked on told someone about it and now she is getting picked on. her teachers told her if she kepted on telling they was going to call the police on her. i talked to everyone at the school and they said that there's nothing that they can do. i am so upset i don't know what i can do. SOMEONE GIVE ME ANSWERS PLEASE!!!!!!!

Talk to the teacher directly, and talk to other adults in the classroom who may not be so directly involved. Find out all sides of the story and then move from there. The teacher might think your child thinks her comments are funny. I have students I joke around with because I know their personality, and I know what they will find silly and what they will take seriously.
Also, consider the fact that your daughter may have misunderstood. I'm not, by any means, calling her a liar, but it seems like a rather odd comment for the teacher to make - that she's going to call the police? Maybe the teacher told her that she doesn't like her tattling, and your daughter took that to mean that she was doing something wrong - something punishable by the police. If your daughter is normally pretty level-headed about this stuff, trust her. But I know some children to exaggerate stories to make them more interesting - I have a student in my class who told her mom that I threw her out the window when she said a bad word. What happened was that she told another child to "shut up", and I talked with her about more appropriate things to say. She was very tense while we talked, but she got over it pretty quickly. And her mother was confident that I didn't throw her daughter out the window!
I'm just saying, get all the information you can and then make a decision. If you trust your daughter's assessment of the situation, and you don't trust the teacher, get her out of that classroom. Change rooms, change schools, whatever you need to do. But the best way to resolve a problem is to communicate - so don't be afraid to talk to the teacher!

You should have a meeting with the principal. Explain the situation to her, and see what she says about it. you should also have a meeting with your child's teacher and put her in her place, In an appropriated manner. Tell the teacher what she said to your daughter was very inappropriate. Also let the principal know if this matter is not resolved, you will go to higher authorities. Now, if the principal doesn't do nothing about this matter, and it continues, then you should go to a higher authority. Write a letter or schedule a meeting with the superintendent of the school. I'm a mother and I wouldn't want no teacher picking on my child...

The teacher is being too unreasonable. I once encountered a similar situation too where my friend was being picked on my teacher and later told another person. Please do not worry too much as the case will resolve slowly. If you can, go straight up to the school and speak to the teacher. If the teacher denies, you can always call the principal to step in and authorise this case.

I don't think a teacher can pick on a student. It's not right. A teacher could get in serious trouble for picking on your child. Have you talked to the school's principal, etc. Maybe she/he can do something about it.

I agree with you. I am going to be a teacher and that is something that i make sure of not doing. I don't agree with bullying and i think it is sad when teachers do nothing about it.

WHAT?!?!? your child's teacher is not right in the head, your kid was only doing what s/he thought was right and the teacher's threatening to call the police? That's unreasonable and really unfair. write to the board of ed or to the superintendent!! I'm going to find if a teacher can be fired for that......*plots revenge*

I would take her out of that school!put her into a new one.The teacher needs to get her but fired!!!That is not nice picking on a student. You need to call the cops on her for being such a buthead. She needs to get out of there.teaching is about teaching students what they need to know,not to get picked on.That is not a very nice teacher.Talk to the princepal.She needs to leave or be fired.

have u talked to the principal? if that dont work go talk to the superintendent and set up a meeting. also you can alway get on the minutes at the board meetings and discuss your problem with the school board good luck

I Don't know where you live, but everywhere will have a Department of Human Services or something similar. If you report it to them they will investigate and then act on it. You can remain anonymous if you want.
