How can I get my kids to forgive me?

My kids (son age 7 and daughter age 5) live about 4 hours away from me with their mom (my ex) and step dad. I was so happy because this past weekend I picked them up to spend a few days with me at my house. But when we got to my place I realized that something wasn't right. I asked them what was wrong and they said they didn't want to stay with me. I asked them why but they wouldn't say. So I called my ex to ask her if she had been telling them things about me. My ex and I usually get along, but this time, I lost my cool and started cursing her out. I knew the kids heard me because I wasn't very quiet about it. Pissed off, I drove them right back to their mother's house. I tried calling them since then but they don't really want to talk to me.

Well, can you blame them after that? I'm sure they are confused and afraid about what is going on around them and to their family. They are very young and you should never let them hear you 2 fight or argue. Children have a way of taking the blame for their parents problems. You should have sat down and talked to them Dad to kid, heart to heart. Maybe you needed to reassure them that you'd always be there for them no matter what. Now, all I can say is you need to ask your children to forgive you and tell them how sorry you acted that way. Be sure they know that you weren't mad at them. Childrens emotions are fragile. Take that into consideration from now on.

you need to go there and explain to them how u feel and why u got mad. My kids are the same way to there father and all my son whats to know is why he doesn't come around, why he moved so far away, things like that. They probably feel abandoned by u. You need to sit down with them and just answer any questions they have but do it where they r comfortable at so this way they feel it is okay to tell u how they feel.
