Looks like myth to me.
Of course, fundies see the Bible as if it were a textbook, or a scientific document, not the widely varied collection of stories, tales, legends and rules that it is. To them, the Bible says it's true. And that's enough for them.
Bless their hearts...

Firstly, the concept that Christians should be socialist-tic (if that's a word?) is a flawed misconception. The Bible does not preach that you should have the government subsidize everything, rather that any and all sharing should be genuine and sincere. Welfare is forced through taxation, where as charity is being done personally. Which is more noble and righteous? Secondly, Communism, at least in the Soviet model, highly discourages religion as it is a personal trait that emphasizes individuality, in a society that would emphasize collectivism. Notice a flaw. And as for socialism failing, unfortunately its true. In a ideal world it would work, however, in order to enforce the Marxist model of socialism, you would have to create a NEW class system. Those who work (the... proletariat?) and those who rule over the ruling (the bourgeois ). In an ideal world the ruling class of the socialist government would rule fairly, BUT people are not infallible.

It does match this definition, but it doesn't match the stigma that generally accompanies the term "myth". We assume that "myth" equals untrue or a significantly embellished story.
That is generally consistent with the anti-supernatural bias that most people have on the topic. So it may fit the criteria, but that doesn't mean that the biblical accounts are untrue.

Technically, by this definition, the Bible is the myth, as is any holy book. The practice of following the teaching in said book of stories is religion. So it's beliefs based on mythology.

I shall tell ye the truth the Profits in the Bible have spoken of the Truth and it came to life what they had said had been done before seen. Every Word Every Story in the Bible is true not only cause it makes since... not because its the most read book in the World ....but because it explains life from the Beginning to the End.

Properly speaking, Christianity is a religion with members in many places around the world. It is not a myth. However, the belief system it teaches is based upon the myths written in the bible.

Christian iconography is myth stolen directly from Egyptian mythology. Jesus fits the bill as the lead role in the "Hero myth" and the "Sun God". Holy Spirit as the "Supernatural Being". The Ascension, Egyptology.
All religion has it's beginnings in someone else's religion...

Christianity will fade from religion to myth at about the same time that it has no followers.

Good question bari. But how is it that ALL RELIGIONS aren't concidered myth, as religion is mere faith, a concept rather than something tangible.

The problem seems to be literal interpretation of christian mythology. There is truth in all mythology but you have to search deeper than the symbols and metaphor to grasp it.
