Well considering the average age of Senators is 59.5 years old, most of their children would be in their late 30's.
And who would join the Military , thinking that in 15 or 20 years, my father might be a Senator?
Right now, 2% of Senators have a child in the Military, thats a higher percentage than civilans who have a child in the military.

A few months ago if I remember correctly, Senator John Kerry said only uneducated people join the military. Though this is a voluntary only service at this point going to college and getting a degree is more important to those that make law than their children serving their country in the military. The area it would be interesting to find if any of their children serve in combat specifically would be the Directors of the Veterans Administration and the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs.

Some senators do have children that are currently in Iraq. Mr. Webb, the guy who beat George Allen in the November 7 elections, has a son who is currently serving in Iraq.

At least one has. But mostly because this ruling class doesn't see it as a suitable thing for their precious offspring to do.
Funny thing, the British Royal Family serves in the military. Prince Andrew flew a Westland Lynx in the Falklands war, Lord Mountbatten, Viceroy of India, was sunk while commanding HMS Kelly during WW II and the IRA 'bravely' blew him up for lobster fishing off Ireland. George Bush senior did his bit, unlike his sniveling draft dodging, drug abusing, drunkard kid. John McCane and John Kerry too (unless you believe Swift Boat Veterans for re-electing GWB at any cost).
It's just the current crowd that aren't willing to do the right thing. What has gone wrong with out 'leaders'?

Senator Bond's son is half way to Iraq as I type. Senator McCain's son is in Iraq. There are only 100 Senators - if you look at 100 co-workers or 100 friends how many have children in Iraq? Your litmus test is too high to live up to. No Senator is trying to keep his son "safe while endangering mine.

i could be a dad yet besides i might desire to proceed the honour and custom that my relatives started yet regrettably being a bastard has kind of stopped it till i'm sufficiently previous. the two way i'll consistently be supportive as i comprehend my mothers and dads are. I in simple terms wish my youngsters desire to be Marines like their dad will. Even in the army, Coast shelter, Air rigidity etc. i'll be in simple terms as proud. yet I do plan on having them to flow to faculties or a minimum of militia Academies. they might desire to get an training too.

The words of the song "it ain't me it ain't me I ain't no senators son"about the Vietnam war remind me that not much has changed whether you volunteer or are drafted they will always look out for their nearest and dearest.
