I drunk-dial all the time. it really serves no purpose but for me to let the person i'm calling know that i'm intoxicated. there's the chance that this guy doesn't care about bothering you with drunken stupidness or you actually mean alot to him. It could just be that you're the only one that answers the phone. i'm the type of person thati'll go through my entire phonebook when i'm drunk just to see who answers. but there is a strong chance that this guy loves you maybe just as a friend or otherwise. Alcohol is acrutch for the socially and emotionally weak. You don't have to be honest with yourself or anyone else if you're drunk. you should probably address it with him.

I don't drunk dial, but i hit everything else. E-mail, im, text, facebook.
I don't blieve in your quote entirely.
YOu lose your inhibitions and do things you may normally not do. Not necessarily things you think are wrong, just things you wouldn't do....like sing karaoke(haha)
Depends on how much you drank though.
Too much and you jsut become stupid. Say things you don't mean or would ever do.

As a guy, girls i am truly not interested in, i sometimes hit on more when i get horny from the alcohol. Wake up and hope they were drunk enough to forget what i said.

Anyways, he might like you and since you're a friend, that could be an issue.. You're not a mild aquaintance that if he says he likes you, and you freak out....that never talking again will be a problem.
Might be second guessing the things he says when he's sober into thinking he's hitting on you rather than just being friendly.
Hard to explain. I do have /had some really really good friends, that i had a crush on too. yeah i'd like more, but rather not lose what i have now.

Wow, this should be aimed right at me. I've done my share of this... and I was really ashamed the next day.

I think there are different reasons why people drink so much, but speaking for myself, and possibly your friend it does have a lot to do with courage, as you mentioned. The truth does not always come out, either, as some people think. Sometimes a person may feel the need to dramatize events that they feel are important, where otherwise they might not make that big a deal of them.

Also yeah some people feel the need to have someone to talk to, and maybe they feel freer to say things that others might find unimportant, even something silly like a dream or an idea.

But to a certain degree sometimes the truth or what the person really feels does come out in what the person may say or even do. Here lately I've tried to stifle some things that are bothering me, but if I start drinking very much, these things come back up in my mind, and I can't seem to keep from feeling sad.

It's too bad, at least speaking for myself, that we can't just call people when we're sober and talk the way we want to. Some of us just didn't grow up with the gall for it.

I am not sure why he waits until he gets drunk to call you but I honestly believe that what a person says while they are drunk is the truth, My cousin is like that he has been in love with my best friend forever ( they dated along time ago ) now the only time he calls her is when he is drunk and he tells her how he feels I am the only other person who knows how he really feels.
I think that they wait til they are drunk so that if you say something that they don't like or don't want to hear then they probably won't remember what you said to them.

If he's a drunk, then run the other way. He may feel a lot of things but can't find the courage to say them until he's inebriated. Which is fine if you want a friend/partner that has to stay drunk in order to survive in a relationship. Encourage him to get sober, clean, and into therapy to deal with the underlying reasons he needs to be drunk to socialize.

alcohol makes you brave because you can blame the drunkness for doing something stupid. and if it works out you say yea well being drunk makes you speak what you really feel. so it is a win-win situation
