As a general rule it is every 3 to 4 months, or 3,000 miles which ever comes first, but any thing more is just being wasteful with the gas prices being what the are.

The answer is no. Most drag racers change oil at every run . So that means they are at about a half mile interval. Clean oil is the lifeblood of the engine and definitely the heart and soul of the turbo.

I have always changed my oil at 2K intervals and after 276000 miles it still runs like new. I do take my old oil to a recycling center too. You could go to 3K intervals but I would never go beyond that because the additives start breaking down.

I would follow the manual for oil changes...like every 5000-7500 miles.

Just because you get free oil does not mean it's a quality oil. Try Mobil 1 0W-40 for starters.

Changing oil prematurely wastes natural resources.

Kind of wastes oil, 5,000 miles (not 3,000 like the OIL SELLER outfits advertise) is manufacturer standard now, and many fleets go 7500 between changes.

As long as they are free, and you have the spare time, no problem. If you ever have to pay, or take time away from your $50/hr. job, then you are wasting money changing every 2k miles.

changing extra beneficial than is needed is undesirable for the ecosystem, despite in case you recycle it, your dropping stable new oil, the packaging it relatively is provided in, and the capability it takes to deliver, and technique it. stick to the producer's advice and you will no longer bypass incorrect. with regards to Harley's answer, properly, Harley riders understand as lots approximately helmets as they understand approximately motorcycles. however the Bombshell might understand some thing extra approximately money and lubrication!

that won't hurt a thing, especially since it's a turbo, still it is kind of overkill but since you get the oil for free, why not.
