Everyday Im worried about her.A couple days ago she shaved her head off because already chunks of hair fell out every day. Even though she has no hair she still looks just as beautiful as she used to be. People stare at us often. It gets annoying. Dont they understand what she's going through? Im positive that she not the only one who is diagnosed. For the other people who do have breast cancer your in my prayers cuz i know how it feels like you feel scared and lonely inside. I pray for every single person who has breast cancer just believe and have hope.Yes im only 12yrs. old but believe it or not we do have feelings . Dont worry you or your mother is in gods hands.

You know that my mother died when I was 12. She had ovarian cancer. You are not alone, there are a lot of 12 year olds going through the same thing. Be strong for you and your mother. She wants you to make her proud. Those were my mom's last words to me. Make her proud. As far as people that stare, screw them. I will send out many prayers. Good luck to you and be a big girl. These are the times where God is testing your strength. Your mom would be very proud of you for asking such a great ?. God Bless you and your mom.

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I will keep you and her in my prayers. I have a friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. She, too, looked beautiful and she was the most courageous, upbeat, optimistic person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She really needed the strength of her family and friends and I am glad to say she is now cancer free. I understand how frustrating it must be when people stare, but most people are good and are mostly just curious, or sympathetic, but they don't want to say anything. You sound like a very mature and caring girl, more so than most 12 year olds and your mother is lucky to have you supporting her. Best wishes and god bless.

Jazmine -
I was diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer in 2002 - I was 31 yrs. old at the time. My son was 9. I am doing great now. I am a much stronger person because of what I went through. The best thing you can do for your mom is to be there for her - especially in little ways, like helping out around the house or taking care of your brothers or sisters (if you have any). Your mom is going to be very tired from her treatments and is going to get very sick if she does chemo but she will get better. Her hair will grow back and will probably be even more beautiful than it was before.
My son surprised me in so many ways when I was sick. He brought me a sick bowl and water when he heard me getting sick. He often would bring me a cool wet cloth for my head, make sure I was covered up and generally did the same things for me that I have always done for him when he's been sick. He hardly let me carry anything when we went to the store - you wouldn't believe the compliments I got about him (and still do). He was the reason I made it through my treatments and did the extra treatments my doctors wanted me to do. I truly believe I am still here today because of him. You will be your mother's strength during her treatments. Believe in her and believe in yourself, sweetie.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I know this is a difficult time. People can seem insensitive when they stare, but they may not be staring to be rude. They are probably staring because they are curious. Just stay strong for your mother. My friend that suffered from breast cancer wore a wig and a big smile. She enjoyed becoming a long-haired blonde one day and a brunette the next. Keep your head up. And I'll be praying for you and your mother.

Jaz,

Sorry to hear about your mom. I still remember the day that I shaved my head because it was easier than watching it all fall out. I was 29 years old when I was diagnosed with breast cancer (3 yrs ago), and I was also 8 months pregnant and had an 18 month old daughter at home too. I am thankful that they aren't able to remember all the fear and crap that goes with cancer. I give you a lot of credit and admire your strength. Take care, and no, you are no alone, there are many of us out here.

Without being a doctor, I would say her chances are good as long as they caught it in the early stages. She will need intensive treatment but the medical profession has had many successes when it comes to breast cancer and it can only get better!

I know that you are scared and so is your mom. Sometimes, after going through the treatments there is a very happy ending. I was diagnoised with breast cancer in July. I underwent sugery and treatment and now I am completely cancer free. Let everyone stare, so what? Maybe, they notice how beautiful your mom is, too.
