That is the only explanation.

Obviously, the deity in Genesis has an uncomfortable time with the truth. The first lie in the Bible is that they would DIE for eating his special tree.*
Now, Adam and Eve were as innocent as babes- how many of you would leave the cookie jar in the reach of an infant and punish them for reaching into it. If he wanted his tree left alone he wouldn't have put it there.
So, he lies about what it does, puts it there, and then puts a critter** in there to suggest eating it and then has an issue with it happening...
I like the original Sumerian version better. The idea that the deity is omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotant and a good being renders this version of the Middle-Eastern creation myth very silly.

In my study, Satan was first an Angel. Angels had free access from the Heavens and the Earth. Satan, being jealous of the relationship between God and Adam, wanted to set them up to show God they were not as perfect as God was treating them.(With love that the Angels never experienced before.) God, as much as He loves us gives us the free will to choose. (You know how we as a generation always wants to cry about freedom of choice, that is what we have). We always want to blame God for our instabilities. Anyways, Eve choose to get the forbidden fruit. Satan did not give her the fruit, he just tempted her and she fell for it. That is also when God cursed Satan to the Earth.(For you shall crawl on your belly the rest of your days)

The eternal question. "Why does God allow evil to exist?"
The answer is that there is no answer. Either God is less than the omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent Fellow we've all been led to believe - for otherwise, absolutely everything would be under His control, and no "evil" could exist without being specifically willed by Him - or "Satan" must be a Being on equal footing with God, capable of challenging His authority. Either God is identical with Satan, or coequal with Him. And there goes the whole of Christian theology up in smoke.
"We are proud people thats why. Take for instance a bully at school who picks on kids he does that until another bully comes along and picks on him. So the devil is a tool created by god to bring us closer to him."
So God is a bully! or at least, went out of his way to create a supernatural Bully to inflict on mankind, purely for the purpose of "bringing us closer to him." With friends like this, who needs enemies!

Lucifer's recorded rebellion is in Isaiah 14:12-20. From his high position in heaven, pride took hold of him and God cast him to the earth.
Was it a set-up?
No, God still wins for those that believe on Him.

He didn't. The story of the serpent in the Garden (who is not identified as satan in the first place) is based on the Solar mythos of the ancient Mysteries, and utilizes astronomical events to illustrate the descent of man into darkness and ignorance and the redemption of man from the same.
The woman is Virgo, the serpent is Serpens (also identified with the Babylonian Enki), and the seed of the woman is Ophiuchus.

why do you think you have exams for ? is it a set up
why do you think you are not allowed to cheat in that exam ?
why do you think your grades should be different from the one who didn't do her duties and didn't study as hard as you did
so if you find a weak person can have the authourity to test another weak person so what about the lord of all
what about him when he wants to know who obeyed and resist his bad intentions only for god's sake and who was just the shadow of devil , and how would you think god could have tested us , would you expect the heavens to rain quizzes or what
so a person has always his own choice and there's always a moment when you can say no i will stick to my beleifs and i will beat the devil that how you pass this exam by the way i am muslim and my relegion gets me to beleive in all other religions caz it's all written in my holy book which has never been twisted in one letter then it was sent from god , and beleive it or not if you read the quoran you will know about the history of all prophets starting ibrahim, ismail ,isaac , jacob ,soliman , hood , dawood and moes , jesus and master of all people yours and mine prophet mohamed

What are you talking about? Satan was never in the Garden of Eden. Perhaps you are confusing Satan with the serpent?
