yes you can still play poker online.
checkout http://upnorthbetting.net/ for a list of sites still accepting U.S. players. Depositing is the hard part. I use a visa gift card and it works with no problem, Its cheaper than epassporte. You can get one online and it's called Virtual Gift card and it's ready in just a few minutes. They'll send you a card # and Pin # to your E-mail address. You can get one here http://apparel.giftcards.com/consumer/index.html But just remember to load it with a min. of $50 so you can use it at any site. ("VirtualGift" the one on the right)
It will work like a normal Visa Card.
P.S.
I Live in the U.S.

I Hope this Helps! Good Luck at the tables!

Millions of U.S. citizens play poker and gamble online every day and not a single one of them has ever been charged, fined or prosecuted.
On September 30 2006, a new Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was passed. Does this change anything?
The new bill does not make online poker illegal.
The bill does not change existing gaming laws.
The bill does not touch the players.
Some sites have decided to suspend any real money transfer for U.S. residents, but many others are still open!

Go for : FULL TILT, POKER STARS, ABSOLUTE POKER, ULTIMATE BET, BODOG........And more.

The best safe way for US players to deposit is to use: EPASSEPORTE.

I live in the US, and personally play on several site, around 30/50hrs a week.

Take care

1. Sites like PokerStars, Full Tilt, Absolute, UltimateBet, Bodog, WSEX, etc. are still up and running. These are among the most stable sites out there, which is important since there is a lot of uncertainty in the industry. For example, since Doyle's Room left and is facilitating transfers to Full Tilt, it is a strong indicator that Full Tilt has no plans to leave the market.

2. I have begun to use Virtual Visa cards for deposits. Another poster mentioned one kind, I've been getting mine from GiftCards.com. They have the highest limits ($500 per card) and lowest fees ($2 per card) that I found. I have had no problems using this. The only issue is if you play very high stakes you have to buy a bunch of cards and do separate deposits for each.

3. Important to remember: it is NOT illegal for you to play. Everything in the UIGEA targets financial institutions. They did not criminalize the act of playing online poker.

4. If the law angers you as much as it angers me, go to the PPA's website (link below). They provide resources for contacting your senators and congressperson, and other ways to mobilize people toward getting this bill revoked.

Good luck!

www.fulltiltpoker.com still accepts US players. Use the bonus code EZBONUS for a 100% bonus on your first deposit.

The easiest way to deposit is by purchasing the virtual visa from www.loadchips.com You can use any credit/debit card to purchase it, then use the virtual visa to deposit to your account.

I just learned all this through some great answers today!
