I've often thought there should be a support group where single people can discuss the problem they face being single, but I'm at a loss of how to start one . Where do I begin ?

To start a support group is pretty easy. Make flyers and distribute them. As soon as you have members you have a support group.

You can also write letters to local psychologists etc.. and ask if they'd volunteer some time to your group, maybe speak during one week on a topic you choose.

Also go to your local university/college. There might be a psychology or education or human service student that could intern and help you and get school credit for it.
