because of the raw eggs inside?

It depends on the freshness of your eggs, how many you put in, and if they were the kind that comes powdered in the bag. But i do it regardless, that stuff is good!

If you need extra assurance, you can use eggs that have been pasteurized in their shell (check with regular eggs in store, cost a buck or two more per dozen than regular eggs.)

But I've never gotten sick from licking the bowl after mixing cake batter. I've gotten sick from too much cookie dough (ugh--won't do that again), a bad key lime pie, and some chocolate-covered strawberries (I'm guessing the strawberries had E. coli or something on them.)

Not cake batter. I can't guarantee you won't get sick...but you probably won't.

And cake batter tastes gooood.

And when I make Orange Julius knock-offs, I don't put in eggs. You can make them OK without the egg (I didn't know it was in there.)

There is nothing wrong with eating raw eggs. Orange Julius, Caesar dressing, protein shakes, etc., so if you like to eat batter do so with a clear conscience. Yucko though.

I have eaten it for 30 years and never gotten sick. Have even on a couple of my "bad" moments made a cake batter to eat without baking at all LOL

No, because the raw eggs can make you sick. I've been doing it for over 20 years and have never gotten sick. But, you never know, the next time could be the last time.

No problem at all, I eat raw eggs (like Rocky) everyday, and have for the past 19 years

I have licked the spoon of brownie mix and cake batter and not had any trouble. However, I have a healthy digestive system and have been nicknamed "cast iron stomach" by my parents. I would not advise doing so if you have health problems.

I have done it and I have seen other people do it. I think that in every household there is someone who likes to clean the mixing utensils, if not get an additional taste. I suppose that the experts would say "no", but this is one of those things that most people ignore.
