No problem. It imparts no significant contaminants - considering the processing and separation that the blood products typically undergo.
Now they might not make an ideal lung donor - thats for sure.

If you are asking if it is correct that people who smoke can give blood the answer is yes. If you are asking if it ethical that people who smoke can donate blood MY answer is yes because the benefits outweigh the risks>

dah, yes because people smoke does,nt mean there lepors ,although you would think they were judging some peoples reactions. i would say that if you were in an accident and needed blood to survive you would not ask if the person supplying the blood if they smoked or not its just a habit supplied by mankind oh and by the way are making a lot of money out of it

Morally right? I'm not sure what kind of right you mean...if in the medical ethics sense, I dunno...but if you ask some poor sod who's had to have a massive transfusion after an accident, and a smoker's blood has saved his life....I bet he says 'yes'!

I smoke and I can't give blood. Nothing to do with smoking but because I lived in the UK during BSE and in Ireland that precludes blood donations. Permanently.

well if i needed a blood transfusion the last thing i would be worried about would be if it came from a smoker or non smoker particularly as it is always in short supply. My blood is as good as the next persons.

I don't know if you are asking if it is allowed or if it is morally acceptable.
It is certainly allowed, and I can see no moral objection to it.
