Talk to a vet to get healthy ways to give him the extra boost. If hes not to old u can give him puppy milk that u get at a pet store. or if u know someone whos dog is nursing puppies see if that dog can act liek something of a wet nurse to the pup, but keep in mind she might no taccept the pup, or he might jsut be a small puppy and will make up for it later. you also dont need a big dog to run with any dog will do. Also who knows u could have a Clifford on oyur hands and he'll grow up to be a giant dog!!! Also i would stop feeding him cat food (unless the vet says other wise) because dos and cats have different anatomies and needs to help them grow into healthy adults. Hopes this helps!

I would suggest you get a food that contains a meat product as the first ingredient such as Maximum Nutrition or Innova. This way his body gets all the nutrients that it needs and will store them. I wouldn't recommend using cat food because it will create behavioral problems later on when he won't eat solid food without it. Make sure you feed him slightly more than specified on the bag. Over feeding or allowing the dog to eat as much as he wants could cause rapid weight gain that will put stress on his joints so try not to beef him up too fast. Putting him on a good quality food will help a lot. You can get Maximum Nutrition at walmart for cheap or you can order Innova online at this site. It's the best food on the market but very expensive.

He's going to be a small pit regardless of the food you're making him eat. Giving him a lot of protein is only going to make him more hyper.
Feed him regular dry dog food (Premium no by products, no corn). He'll be strong and be able to run w/ you.
My brother's pit is on the small side...only 45lbs. And she's a champ... he jogs 4-5 miles w/ her training for 1/2 marathons etc. Don't worry about making him big.. he'll be okay
Good Luck

I wouldn't suggest cat food. It is very high in sodium and can cause more problems than it solves. Many companies offer vitamin supplements to help build strength and often veterinarians can suggest the perfect blend. But, increasing a dog's size can be tricky and/or unhealthy. Please do this only with a vet's consultation.

It is bad to feed your dog cat food , please stop now. It will harm it. And if it is the runt of the litter , it may not get to be the normal size. But you can exercise it to build up the muscles. And you can call your vet and he will tell you the same.My St.Bernard was a runt and he won't be as big as the normal ones. He's a male and he will only get to be 150 lbs at the most.

being as he didn't get a whole lot from mom, this may have stunted his growth. However, you can go to the store and get goat's milk and mix with his food.....you can also feed him raw chicken.

if you want him fatter you should feed him can dog food but not much and not all the time... if you want him more muscular you got to exercise him.. food isn't going to prepare him for exercise.. he has to get use to it by the experience..
