I've seen some stay in that phase for a year or so after entering it. As has already been said spaying/neutering can help the problem. You also might consider getting another cat around the same age for the kitten to play with.

It depends on the cat. One of my cats made it through that phase and was calm by the time he was a year old. The other one is 9 years old and is still a complete spaz. If this happens to you, and your cat is still a complete goofball after a year or two, consider getting a second cat. It seems counter-intuitive, but 2 cats really are better behaved then one. They entertain each other, and get some of that boundless energy out in the process.

I have a cat who is going on four. She stayed in her crazy phase for about a few months but every now and then she still acts a bit crazy.

My cat went through that for a year and then he calmed down. Just make sure you give the cat plenty of attention, cause that could determine how the cat acts when they come out of this stage. I almost tortured my cat with attention and now he lets me do anything to him. Hold him like a baby, upside down. He even fetches. And make sure if he's biting in the face stop that right now, pop him on the nose or bite him back, don't laugh cause it works just not very hard, hard enough he knows it hurts.

She is just being a kitten. The older she gets the calmer she will get.
