I dont really think the age is relevant, the attraction and things you have in common with someone are ulitimately what make or break a relationship. If someone is ten years older than you but you get on really well and have lots in common, the age gap isnt an issue.
I know you want a straight answer though so if i was 25 i would probably tend to go out with someone no older than 40.

no not at all, age really shouldnt be a factor in a realtionship, do you get along, have same interests, suit eachother, are you happy? these are the right questions. with that being said there are limits, for example if the girl is underage stay away. i'm not talking 18 and 22 this can be ok depends on circumstances, more like 14 and 30 don't laugh im close to girls that have done it. the guy or girl should not be old enough to manipulate the other with life experinece and general wisdom that comes with age. im 19 and i were not in a realtionship with my boyfriend 25, i wouldnt go past 30-33 really depends on person thou.

it's not the age gap that's the problem it's the life experience. If you date a guy 2 years older that you who has been married twice and has 6 kids you would have less in common with him when it comes to your own experiences. The relationship might be doomed after a week.
However, if you date a guy who is 15 years older with similar ambitions in life, it might work out fine. Unfortunately, the older guy is usually the one carrying the baggage. It just means you have to be aware of what type of relation you are both looking for and be aware of any problems you might run into.

my cousin is 14, and her brother is 34 so i believe that is an age gap of 20 years!! geeze! her mam ... *concieved* her son when she was 15, and her daughter at aged 35. they both also have a sister who is 24, so all three kids are almost 10 years apart. ADD: its not a GREAT idea because they didnt get to bond, her brother moved out aged 19 so he wasnt living in the house when she was born, she just saw him every so often when he came over. both sisters however bonded emensly. her older sister was around the age of 10 when she was born and so they didnt have the problems of fighting that sisters have if there is a gap of 2-3 years difference. hope i helped x

I'm 25, and at this age, about 10 years older than I am is the oldest I'd go. Everyone's different though... I have girlfriends who wouldn't go more than 2-3 years older than they are, and I have another girlfriend my age who's dating a 39-year-old. I think it's less about actual age and more about where you are in your life.

I'm 23 and I'm dating a 33 yr old. Once you're an adult, I think it depends on the situation and the people involved. My family wouldn't approve of my dating someone who is 40, so I probably wouldn't go that far even if I did feel comfortable with a man that age.

My ex husband was 11 years older than me, and HE left me for another woman. After we divorced I met my current husband and he is 8 years Younger, I've gone for the toy boy, but 8 years isn't much, I would say between 15 and 20 years.
