The difficulty there, as I can see, would be shipping it to the buyer, since a fairly large furniture item, or several items would be pretty costly, and it would hardly be worth the money by the time the buyer paid the shipping charge.
If it was me, I'd use your local newspaper's Small Ads columns. That way, an interested party would be relatively close to you and it would be for them to come to you, see the stuff and haul it away if they bought it.
I do some buying on eBay occasionally, and I have never seen where a seller made any specification that the only people who need to bid on the item for sale have to live within a certain distance, because they would have to come pick it up themselves.
You might also try putting up something on the public bulletin board that a lot of grocery stores have at their entrance. Our Wal-Mart store has a big one. You might get lucky that way. Ask at any other places that you may happen to make purchases from quite often - where they know you quite well - if they'll let you put a card up.

Don't use ebay, use something like local free ads or equivalent. I sold a bunk bed on ebay and only got £20, I had also put it in free ads at £50 and got three people phone me after I'd sold it on ebay. DOUGH!!!
Ebay on furniture, although will make sure it's sold, will probably get you the worst price.
Hope that helps.
(Also, I'm not against Ebay, just think furniture is not a good Ebay thing)

Do a yahoo search for ebay sucks & look at some of the results. You would be better off money wise to donate that furniture.

I have had great sucess with craigs list. You can list your stuff locally and they pick up and post 4 pictures plus it is free. It is good to post early saturday morning that is when weekend buyers surf the web for furniture. Be careful of scammers only accept cash.. use common sense..
good luck!!!

furniture will mainly appeal to buyers on Ebay that live within a close proximity to to you,as its quite expensive shipping furniture,so if you live in a city or a highly populated area,it will be fine, but, living in a small town ,i wouldnt bother.
Put up with the garage sale tyre kickers

Go to Craigs List. It's all people that live locally. There would be no shipping charges because they come pick it up.
