My husband has to work abroad for quite a while. My landlord, also a family friend, knew that there'd be nobody cut the grass and hedge, he thus sent his friend ( a lady, also my friend ) to ask my neighbour to cut it for me. This neighbour's good at gardening and my landlord knows him better than I do. My landlord's going to pay him for that. I didn't know that my landlord had sent the lady friend to ask until I met this lady and she told me. She said that the neighbour told her that he's going to travel for three months and he gave the lady his wife's phone number, told her to contact his wife! It's never been his wife who cuts the hedge and grass! I've always been thinking that I'm getting along well with this neighbour.

I am not trying to be rude or judgemental only curious when I say this , why dont you cut the grass and trim the hedges? Gardening is a nice way to relax . and it can be done slowly and you dont have to rush. My mom is 71 and does all her gardening stuff and always has. I am 45 and just finished the last half of putting shingles on my roof. Women can do anything they put thier mind to. Any way like i said just curious , for all I know you might be allegric or something to pollens or what ever. So remember I wasnt judging. back to your question. The only thing I see about anything in your question is that your landlord who is a family friend was trying to be helpful by getting the neighbor to help you out figuring that since you are alone right now with out your husband you probably wouldnt of felt comfortable asking for the help and maybe since he didnt have the time or it was just easier he asked his lady friend to do the asking and since by chance the neighbor who does the gardening is planning a trip and wont be home to help you mentioned it to his wife and she was more than happy to help you out and they gave thier phone number to this lady friend so that this lady friend could probably find out what a good time is for you and when that time has been decided you or your landlord or the lady friend can call the wife and let her know and then so on and so on. All it means to me is that everyone was trying to be helpful and respectful. It doesnt mean that you are not getting along with the neighbor. And like I said earlier that lots of women do alot of things around the house and so it is no big deal if the wife does it or the man as long as it gets done right? You probalby have never seen the wife do any of the work since here husband has always been there to do it but with him going on a trip there is no reason that the wife cant do it. and you never know maybe they need the extra money and thats why she also agreed to do it. DOnt trip. Everything is as normal as normal can be. Your landlord probably sent his lady friend since who knows maybe she was going that way anyway or had to talk to these people about something else too . No one is reacting in anyway bad or as if they were upset about anything. The neighbor is probably wondering why you yourself didnt ask them or maybe they just figured that since you are a renter it isnt your responsibility to handle the yard work so thats why they said to call the wife.

You are supposed to name one person who will be cutting the grass, but you named three, the landlord's wife, the male neighbor as you named him "him", and the landlord's lady-friend. You're a confused person as i am now.
