Salt is a natural and effective antiseptic. Put some salt in a cup of bearably hot water, and gargle as often as you can with it. I know it tastes icky, but it should work.

Also, avoid driking milk or eating any dairy products since these products increase mucus.

If you have honey and lemon, mix these and they should relieve the soreness. Just honey is really good.

Brush your teeth really well to reduce mouth bacteria, but sterilise your toothbrush after (in boiling water, or with hydrogen peroxide, since toothbrushes carry some nasty germs.)
If you have vitamin C, take about 1000 miligrams. You can't overdose on Vitamin C. Excess gets excreted.

If you have any brandy or whisky, drink just one glass before bedtime. You'll sleep, and the alcohol just may kill a few germs.
But go very easy on the alcohol:-)

If the sorethroat persists you must see your doctor so he/she can take a swab to rule out strep throat.

Rest and don't worry.:-)

Put some ( a little) salt in some warm water and gargel with it. Also, try some honey and lemon juice, about a tablespoon of each mixed together.

Avoid cold drinks an food, drink lots of water (not cold), kiwis are a good source of vitamin C, eat them more often (1 a day). Lemon juice tea with honey can help ease the pain, but is temporally.Do you usually sleep with your mouth open?! It doesn't help!
