I love the kong ball and it's great to use when I'm not home, and it exercises my dog's jaw muscles and cleans his teeth, but.... Won't all the food inside the kong ball add extra calories to my dog's diet and make him fat? And all of the human food make him unhealthy?

The truth is human food (natural food grains, fruit, veggies and meat) is NOT bad for them at all, actually no madder how good the dog food seems fresh human food is usually better. But if you like the kong ball you should keep it. It won't add much calories and if you see him getting fat take him on longer walks. Good luck!

Most human food isn't great for the dog to consume. Why not stuff it with his regular kibble instead of treats and people food? My dog has a Buster Cube that's similar to a Kong Ball, and he loves working his kibble out of it.

While they do love the treats and it's okay every once in a while, the mental simulation they receive from solving the puzzle is what is most beneficial - and they don't need treats for that!

I use the Kong ball about once a week to keep my dog entertained while i am gone and to clean her teeth. I think that if you use it in moderation that it wont hurt the dog. Also, try putting his regular dog food inside that way it is part of his meal but he thinks it's a treat. I put treats, dog food, and the Kong canned treat inside of my dogs Kong and she loves it.

oh dear. if you are so worried about your dog gaining a few extra pounds...then instead of giving them the same portion of food everyday, make it less if you give your dog the kong ball full of food. some proplr never give their dogs human food, i am not one of them. You just have to be smart with what you give them. Here is a clue..if it is unhealthy to you, then it will be unhealty to your dog.

How much do you stuff the kong?? heehee One of two treats should do the trick...or buy a few kongs so you don't have to stuff them that much. Human food isn't good unless it's protein based (meat, etc.)
