To me the summer camp is the only time of the year that the Reserved are regular service and the time to get veteran benefits are acquired.

My son said that the boys would be boys was still there. He was dirty & icky most of the time & he tried to stay out of the vision of his Sgt. just like he did the leaders at scout camp. It was physically tougher but he was stronger going in too.
Oh! he went to OTS not regular boot camp as he is an Officer.

they are practically the same. Except of course Boot Camp has a much more rigorous activities program and they all wear the same outfit and look the same. I would have to say the noise level is equal.
