We have a big problem around here with stray cats (mainly from pets not being desexed) Cats running around in other peoples yards and killing wild life.

Is your cat desexed, is it an indoor cat? Or has your it got the run of the neighbourhood.

Just seeing how many people do or do not.

My two cats are both "fixed", and they are both strictly indoor cats. The world is a dangerous place for pets to roam free, and with cats, they are also a hazard to birds and other small creatures. They are meant to be house pets, I wish everyone would take care of them in that way.

I have had cats and dogs for almost 55 years. I started having my pets spayed and neutered in the early '70's.
For a while I managed a dog pound and became an advocate for spay/neuter programs. Way too many beautiful animals are euthanized each year because of irresponsible owners.

My cats are STRICTLY indoors. The last time I actually allowed one of my cats out was in the '70's also. I called him to come back to the house so I could go to work. He came running across the street, an idiot came roaring down the street and killed him. Since then, I never allow my beloved cats outside and always make sure the dogs are on secure leashes or chains.

My girl is mainly an indoor cat she has been spayed since she was 6 months old and she is now 10 years old. She has only ever bought me 2 birds in her whole life because she is really not a good hunter, in fact it is funny to watch. She just cannot be bothered, so i think the 2 birds that she did get must have been really sick or already dead. lol
She only really goes outside for her toilet business and have a bit a lay down on the hot concrete but she would prefer to hang around me and my 1 yo who also loves her as well

I have a male and female cat and they have always been indoor cats. Both were fixed when they were 6 months old. Much safer for all if they stay indoors! They are now 15 and 16 years old.

My cats are allowed to go in and out as they please. This allows them some freedom and we don't have to have a litterbox. I wouldn't call spaying and neutering desexing because you're not taking away the fact that they're male or female. You could call it fixing, but whatever you call it, spay or neuter quickly to help the cat population. There are way too many cats in this world and many are dying and most have no home. Also, don't declaw your cats. It takes away their natural defense, so they can't fight an attacker or lose a dog up a tree. Good luck!

Yes my cat has been "desexed" and yes she is an indoor cat. Thank you for bringing this up. It breaks my heart to see so many abandoned animals that are forced to kill wildlife in order to survive. Especially since it is very preventable>

Both my cats are spayed, and are technically indoor cats.

They have a balcony to hang out on year round, and sometimes one will get out. I don't stress much because they come back within the hour. They are indoor cats because we have many large feral cats here. They are spayed because there are waaaaaay too many kittens running around.

Mine are indoors but they meow like crazy by the door to get out. I've had them since they were kittens but they want to be out. I have to keep them in due to the coyotes. I don't want to loose them. Cats are really too independent to be kept indoors. I don't see the problem with outdoor cats just as long as they are fixed, too many cats are killed in pounds each day.

I have three cats. Both males have been chopped. Left the little girl alone. kinda wanted to have kittens. Fixed or not my cats are indoor cats. I don't mind the cat killing another defenseless fuzzy animal to eat, they are animals. You can't stop them from being animals. No matter where they came from. However, i had a cat eating my trash not to long ago. Trash everywhere! So got a sling shot gave it to him and he took off so fast! Turns out he lives next door. The people only let him out on certain days and he was fixed!

I have two male cats, one 11 years old and the other 8 months old. Both are inside cats, both are declawed, and both have been neutered. I also have a 2 year old male, who is an outside cat because before I could take him to get him fixed, he became "hot to trott" and I hardly ever see him.
